They weren't paying attention to me and the other fourteen people (including mothers with toddlers) that were in line waiting to use the self-checkout. The employee thought that I had cut in front of the line but I had been waiting in line for over seven minutes. They weren't even observing the entire length of that single line; and that's why she assumed I had cut in front. Safeway needs to get their PIC's and regional managers in the PNW to hire more checkers and stop using these self-checkout machines — someday. No one person saves time in the aggregate sense of things through their use of those machines. Every self-checkout device that's put in this store steals the Safeway employees' jobs, to be frank. I know all about this, since I used to work at Safeway a decade ago.
