The employees here are RUDE!
The cashier I had was an older gentleman. After ringing up he told me my price and stood there. So I looked at the keypad and read aloud. "Waiting on cashier" he LITERALLY shrugged his shoulders and said "oh well". After a couple minutes he repeats my total and I say, "okay but you have to hit total so it can accept my card!" I ran my card and it said "partial payment" hmm. Weird! So I ran it again, declined. Again, declined. Again, declined. Every single time I run my card the employee pressed a bunch of buttons on the cash register.
So I pulled my phone out and checked. $872. My balance was $43.67!
Tried getting a money order and JJ stood and stared at me. When a cashier told him I needed his help he looked over but stayed where he was. A second employee told him I needed assistance and again he looked over and stayed where he was. It's an absolute known FACTS in town that if you are what he considers a 10, he won't even acknowledge you! An employee walked in from outside, looked and the other cashier basically begging JJ to help and she just shrugged and came over to help. She then took my money and started walking away. I had to catch her attention and remind her that she now owes me a money order. A cashier called my AUTISTIC SON a wild animal that needed to be kept in a cage!

Although the population of Burns is relatively small, the Safeway is fully stocked. It offers a wide variety of fresh foods, along with a bakery, sandwich shop, and a Starbucks. The staff is helpful and friendly. A very good place to shop if you were traveling through from out of town.
