  I don’t typically write negative reviews, but tonight’s experience at Kelsey’s was disappointing enough that it warrants one. I arrived just after 10pm to meet my mom and younger sisters, who had already been seated but my mom mentioned it took a while for them to be sat despite the restaurant only having maybe four occupied tables. We received our drinks soon after I sat down, and then proceeded to wait thirty minutes without a single check-in from our server, Lucy. She was entirely absent from the floor for a considerable stretch of time. It took me calling the restaurant from my seat at 10:35 just to get someone to acknowledge our table. Annette answered the phone and immediately came over, apologizing and explaining that our server “didn’t want to disrupt us playing a game.” For context, my sisters — ages 10 and 12 — had just come from a long evening of dance practice and were simply playing Heads Up to pass the time. On a school night, at that hour, the priority should have been efficiency and consideration, not avoidance. Adding to the frustration, once the food finally arrived, Lucy suddenly over-corrected and checked on us multiple times while we were eating, which felt like a bit of an afterthought. She also attempted to upsell us dessert, which was frankly inappropriate considering the circumstances. By the time our meals showed up, my sisters were too tired to even eat. Despite the delay and the clear impact it had on our experience, nothing was offered - no discount, no gesture of goodwill, only excuses. Not that any of that is expected but most other restaurants would have done something. Especially considering the fact that the food wasn’t great either. I personally got a spinach dip and it was dry all around the edges. This is especially disappointing given that our family has been coming to this location for years and has always received prompt service. Tonight was, unfortunately, a complete departure from the standard we’re accustomed to. Very unhappy with this experience.

  Alyx was a great server! She checked on us multiple times and provided us with everything we needed in a quick timely manner. I would definitely ask to be seated in her section again :) Thank you Alyx!

  Ordered their fish and chips take out. Found out the tartar sauce was missing after getting home. Called the store and was told "You missed it" as if it was my mistake. I received one sealed take out bag, so am i supposed to open it and inspect it on site? When I arrived at the store to pick up the sauce, the waitress admitted it was their mistake. I did not ask for any compensation but was hoping they will voluntarily offer something in exchange for the time i wasted to pick up the sauce. Nothing was offered. By the time i got home and everything is ready to eat, the food already lost its optimal temperature and texture. What a waste of time and money. Update: I had a bad experience at first with my takeout order and wasn’t happy with how it was handled. But the restaurant later reached out, apologized, and made things right. I appreciate them taking the time to follow up. Mistakes happen, and I’m glad they cared enough to fix it. I’m satisfied with how it turned out and will give them another try.
