I came from out of town to this Mcdonald's to celebrate my 24th Birthday with my bestfriend on September 6th, 2025 at 12:36pm. Prior to ordering, I pulled up the app and decided upon the 50 cent fry with the purchase of any size drink which required the in-app code (in order to get the extra fries), paired with the $5 meal deal. I decided to order at the front desk, as opposed to the kiosk, to make the process as simple as possible.
Initially, the employee messed up my order while I was ordering, which wasn't a problem and just required me to repeat everything back to her again. Upon receiving my food, however, I noticed I was missing the extra-small drink I had ordered as part of the in-app deal, and my large fry was charged full price which was almost $4.
Once she brought out the food, I addressed this to her, having to explain the situation 3 DIFFERENT times, before she finally brought out the manager who was followed by not only the cashier but by some random employee.
My friend and I explained the situation to her, where the cashier tried to accuse me of lying, claiming that I was the one who had the 'incorrect code' - despite 1. me triple checking it over multiple times before presenting it to her 2. nowhere on the receipt, it showing ANY sign of there being a in-app deal being rung up.
The manager asked me to follow her to the front to refund me for the mistake, and fix the situation. I gladly accepted because at that point, I wasn't even upset, I just wanted to get it sorted out.
I apologized MULTIPLE times for the confusion regarding my order, and was refunded for my fries. I was told to pull back up the offer, and upon doing so was met with the message "You must wait 7 minutes before using another code" (You can only use in-app codes every 20 minutes, and the same code only 1x daily)
I explained this to the manager, who's demeanor COMPLETELY changed. She very rudely shifted, looks me in the eyes, and goes "We already refunded your fries, so we're going to take them away from you." - She then proceeds to direct the random employee, who had been following her around, to go to my table and take the fries. No apology, No attempt to fix the situation.
He cuts me off as I'm walking back to my table to get it for them, reaches ACROSS my friend who was eating, and takes the fries OFF MY TRAY without saying a single word to me.
I had the receipt on my tray as well for proof of purchase, which came up missing as soon as he did that.
I am absolutely appalled by the disgusting behavior of not only the employees themselves, but the manager included.
I'll definitely be contacting corporate and never returning to this location.
