Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
While many customers praised the friendly and helpful staff, there were numerous complaints about slow service and incorrect orders.
Food Quality
Customers generally enjoyed the food when it was correct, but there were frequent reports of cold or incorrect items.
Cleanliness
The facility received positive remarks for cleanliness, although some customers noted issues with dirty tables and trash.
Order Accuracy
A significant number of reviews highlighted problems with order accuracy, including missing items and incorrect modifications.
Wait Times
Many customers expressed frustration with long wait times in the drive-thru, with some reporting waits of 20 minutes or more.

I gave 4 stars for 2 "minor" reasons and it's just my old grumpy opinion. The service and cashier was great. The food came out pretty quick and hot.The place was clean and decent atmosphere. The two minor things I didn't like was that it seems that they use a different brand of pickles than the others and were too sour for me. No biggie, I just won't get them on my burger next time and the Dr Pepper was awful. I will be back. This was 11-15-2025 at about 1:30 pm.

Every time I come to this specific store I have a bad experience. Then I wait a couple weeks and decide I’ll go back because SURELY it can only be better. Nope. If I’m not waiting 20-40 minutes for 1 meal with a fountain drink then the food quality is terrible. And almost every employee I’ve come across has an attitude. I’ve been holding off on making a review but I’ll only be going to 71st & county line from now on. Today, while I did wait less than 5 minutes for shakes and fries, both shakes are only strawberry on the top, vanilla on the bottom 1/3 of the cup. And what is strawberry is completely lumpy and like a vanilla strawberry swirl not even properly mixed, tastes like strawberry syrup. You’d think some of these issues would be fixed with as long as this location has been opened.
