truenorth convenience stores pride themselves on being a premier Shell distributor through being fast, friendly, and clean. truenorth has an ever-growing footprint with stores spanning across the Midwest.
I had to stop for gas and was STUNNED at the price. Gas was in the area of $3.09 almost everywhere in Middlefield so when I saw $2.89 I couldn't believe my eyes. Normally, it's going to be pretty hit and miss regarding whether their gas is high or low, but THIS TIME it was WAY lower. Don't expect fast, friendly service with a smile as everyone I've run into here (with the exception of one female, but she left quite some time ago) apparently despises their job and doesn't much care for conversation. You'll be very lucky to receive any kind of greeting when you walk in, and you're very unlikely to receive a "Thank you" or "Have a great day". Normally the routine is you walk in, the cashier will go to the register, and you'll tell them what you want. Pretty much the only time you'll hear them speak is to tell you your total, the hand you your change, and you walk back out. I'd rate customer service here at a very generous "1 Star '. However, it is pretty clean and well organized inside and the prices are what you'd expect from a convenience store... pretty high. The lot can get pretty cramped and it can be difficult to maneuver. They do have an air compressor but be prepared to pay. Otherwise, it's actually pretty clean and well maintained and Shell does have good gas. Just don't expect to feel very welcome or valued, no matter how much you spend here. Their personalities are generally "I HATE this place" and it's obvious they're only there for their paycheck and couldn't care less if you were the King of Siam... you're just an interruption and inconvenience and they'd rather not have to deal with you if they didn't have to. Also, there have been numerous times in the middle of the night when I REALLY needed gas and the place was all locked up with a paper hanging on the inside of the door that said they would be back shortly. It took 30 minutes on one occasion before they reopened the store but I had no choice but to wait as the next closest open gas station is Circle K in Middlefield and THAT place is even worse and I would've never made it there anyway as it's somewhere around 15 miles away.
