Luis, was by far the best waiter I have ever had. I have done a lot of fine dining but this was another level. From being greeted by my name, to offering a taste of their wine, being able to do a side salad, offering to sub out their take on an old fashioned in case I didn’t like it. I hate maker mark but their “The Butcher” was incredible. The steak I got was the best steak I have ever had, but Luis attention to detail and really showing he cared about us made it an amazing night.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Butcher & Rose after hearing folks at the office talk about how special this place is. My wife actually dropped a serious hint a few weeks prior by sending me a link to their profile, and I am so glad we went!
We made reservations on OpenTable well in advance, which I highly recommend. From the moment we walked in, the interior was absolutely stunning. It was a perfect setting for a special occasion.
Our server was friendly, helpful, and really made the evening feel unique for us. We started with the house made Parker House rolls. They are literally pull apart, airy, and taste incredible with the cultured butter.
For the main course, my wife ordered the Stuffed Maine Lobster. It was a whole lobster from head to tail with the meat prepared and stuffed back into the shell. It was a really neat presentation and delicious experience. I went with the Wagyu Flight which featured three amazingly prepared cuts from around the world including Japan, Australia, and the US. Each one was juicy, tasty, and distinct from the others.
To top it off, our server surprised us with dessert on the house for our anniversary. We had Rose’s Cheesecake which is not your ordinary cheesecake. It has a pistachio crust and a strawberry mousse layer on top that was absolutely incredible.
This was a true fine dining experience with perfectly cooked food, pleasant staff, and great ambiance. We also used the valet on S Lazelle St for $15 which was well worth it given the cold and rainy weather. Highly recommended and we cannot wait to go back!

Music was loud and somewhat distracting. The visuals are stunning and the booths are generously sized in lovely green leather reminiscent of restaurants from the 40s and 50s. The food was prepared well and the presentation was professional. One awkward moment happened when I asked to have an extra service setting removed, when we first sat down, but the assistant didn’t seem to understand what I had asked. Also one customization was neglected with my order but was quickly corrected. My steak was tasty as was my side, and the martini was fabulous. My family who joined me were both pleased with their choices; my son was not too impressed with the plain mac and cheese, yet my husband said it was great! Judge for yourself.

Butcher and Rose provided an exquisitely elegant dining experience, with a refined atmosphere and meticulous attention to detail that elevated our evening. The exceptional service and delightful ambiance were particularly noteworthy. Although I've visited many steak restaurants, this was my first time here, and it was well worth making it a destination during our weekend in Columbus for a Buckeye football game. Our visit coincided with our 9-year anniversary, and the staff made it special by presenting us with a card and multiple congratulations.
The decor and location exuded a swanky vibe, making us feel rather affluent. I chose the butcher's special cut, a beautifully marbled A5 Wagyu bone-in dry-aged ribeye, arguably one of the best steaks I've ever had. My wife opted for the Dutch Harbor king crab legs, and we shared a side of chili-roasted broccoli, which added a tangy twist that I thoroughly enjoyed. The wine selection was extensive, and the restaurant's fresh bakery on the second floor ensures every dessert and bread is baked in-house.
We indulged in the Parker House bread before our meal, which had a unique rye salt taste and was incredibly soft and fresh, enhanced by the cultured butter. Since it was our anniversary, we were treated to a complimentary slice of their in-house baked cheesecake, which was rich and delicious with a pistachio crust and raspberry drizzle. For a top-tier dining experience in Columbus, Butcher and Rose is a must-visit. Although it didn't surpass my previous experiences at The Precinct by Jeff Ruby, it certainly matched their high standards, with the Wagyu cut being one of the finest steaks I've ever enjoyed.
Beginning with the atmosphere alone, this place is really pretty! The floral arrangements hanging from the ceiling will have you constantly looking up to admire them. They have an excellent wine list, and the menu will make it hard to choose because you will salivate over a lot of the selections. We shared a bottle of Caymus and Toro Crudo to start. For dinner, I landed on the stuffed lobster tail and it did not disappoint. It was loaded with flavor and plenty of lobster meat. My husband did the Waygu Manhattan Strip, and we shared the Chili Roasted Broccoli and Roasted Mushrooms. Everything tasted amazing!!! We of course, had to end the evening with the Honey Butter Cake for dessert. This place is perfect for celebratory dinners, dining with out-of-town friends, or no occasion at all. We will definitely be returning!
