Side note/short review- I have heard very good things about their steaks, and we'll probably go back to try them at some point. Heat levels are generally a bit lower than in some spots, but still noticeable. Good overall flavors, aside from one dish, and good cooking of the meat, with the beef being the best of what we tried (it's a steakhouse, so this makes sense in retrospect.)

Anyway, I went to this restaurant with some others pretty shortly after they opened. In general, the food ranged in price from worth it to not as much, and the flavors were solid, though I have preferred some other places. The service was friendly otherwise, and the place feels very casual.
Our first appetizer was the Raw Gulf Shrimp Ceviche/Koong Share Numpla (or Kung/Goong chae nampla) for $17 with fresh mint, orange supremes, raw garlic, Thai bird chili, and lime juice. I have had this dish at a handful of other spots, and this was good, with a unique citrusy touch compared to others with orange instead of the usual bitter gourd. There was a bit less heat than in other spots, but still enough, and the plump raw shrimp had a good texture. This was good, and I would recommend it.
There was also the pretty good Grilled Pork Jowl/Kor Moo Yang for $16, with soy sauce marinated pork jowl, coriander seed, tomato confit, and a tamarind dipping sauce. The meat was mixed into a salad, which was a bit surprising compared to most spots, which just have said meat on a plate. The meat was tender and flavorful, while the sauce was slightly sweet. This was good.
For main dishes, we liked the Wok Chili Tumeric With Beef/Pad Kamin Koua Kling for $24 with asparagus, kaffir lime leaf, long hot chili, and turmeric-lemongrass black pepper sauce. While some other spots add a bit more heat to their kua king, it was still well balanced between the heat and the kaffir lime flavor. The beef inside was very tender, and there was enough meat for the price.
Also good was the Wok Curry Paste With Pork/Pad Prik Kang for $24 with asparagus, Thai eggplant, string beans, long hot chili, Thai basil, and red chili paste sauce. The pork was a tad less tender/flavorful than the beef, but the sauce again had a good depth of flavor with a good mix of spice from the red curry. I also liked the addition of Thai eggplant here, with the vegetable cooked down well and mixing nicely with the curry.
The Pan Seared Duck Breast/Ped Toon Ya Thai for $35, with sesame oil, ginger-soy sauce, pickled ginger, and Thai chili jam, was alright. Served medium rare, the duck wasn't the largest dish nor the most tender. The chili jam made it through, and the bit of crisp on the outside was nice. We also got some turmeric rice with it, which paired nicely with said course.
Last and least was the Wok Chopped Chicken Basil/Pad Kaprow for $24 with string beans, long hot chili, and garlic-chili Thai holy basil sauce. Compared to the other dishes, this tasted most like a generic Thai spot, with the flavors a bit blander. The missing runny egg doesn't help either, and while I usually love this dish, I wouldn't recommend it here.
Outside of the Pad Kaprow/Khaprao, most of the dishes here were better than expected. Some spots might add a bit more heat, and I might prefer a few others, but I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for good and somewhat unique Thai grub.

We had a fantastic experience at Teakwood Thai Chophouse for our company holiday dinner. I brought my entire team here and everything from start to finish was seamless.
Ano was incredibly helpful with setting up the reservation and made sure our group was well taken care of from the start. During dinner, Mariam, our server was super attentive, very warm, and made the whole evening feel easy and so enjoyable. The food was excellent across the board; we had the branzino, octopus, shrimp pad Thai, fried rice, shumai, Thai iced tea, and their homemade desserts. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared, and my team really enjoyed their meals as well including their cocktails. We actually visited this spot about five times before deciding to book our holiday party here, which says a lot. Consistently great food, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quality dining experience in the neighborhood.
