However, the experience was completely ruined by who I assume is the floor manager (a bald gentleman). Despite my table ordering a second round of drinks and settling in, he approached me abruptly and demanded I leave, citing a strict '1-hour table limit.' Here is the problem: I looked around, and tables who had been seated before me were allowed to stay. People who arrived after me were not being rushed. I was the only solo diner, and the only person of color in my section, and I was the only one singled out and asked to leave while I was still spending money. It felt targeted, uncomfortable, and completely lacking in the class that Sant Ambroeus claims to have. Good food is everywhere in NYC; treating guests with basic dignity is apparently rare here.
