The pre- or post-theater prix fixe is a very good deal -- a gourmet three-course dinner for $68.00. Add $11.00 for an excellent glass of house wine (red or white), also a great buy in an area where wine generally runs $18.00 a glass. Also, unlike some other restaurants in the area, you're not crammed in table-to-table. The seating is comfortable and decently spaced.

Rampoldi is a beautiful space with an elegant, inviting atmosphere. I arrived early and sat at the bar, where the bartender was warm and attentive. There was a live pianist earlier in the evening that really elevated the ambiance. I wished the music lasted longer. This was Thursday night and he ended at 8pm.
The service was excellent throughout dinner, and the food was delicious with perfect portion sizes. I also highly recommend their spicy margarita: smooth, well-balanced, and just the right amount of heat.
A refined, enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. I would absolutely dine here again.
Rampoldi has become one of those rare New York restaurants I return to again and again—and after more than four visits, it’s firmly earned its place as one of my favorites in the city. From the moment you step inside, the ambience feels effortlessly elevated: refined, intimate, and unmistakably upscale without ever feeling stiff or pretentious.
The service is consistently exceptional—warm, attentive, and polished in a way that makes every visit feel special and personal. It’s the kind of hospitality that enhances the experience rather than interrupts it, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine care.
The food is, quite simply, delightful. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and rich in flavor, making it clear that quality and detail are at the heart of Rampoldi’s kitchen. Whether it’s a first visit or a repeat one, the experience never loses its charm.
Rampoldi isn’t just a great restaurant—it’s a dependable favorite, ideal for celebrating, impressing, or simply indulging in a truly refined dining experience. In a city overflowing with options, that level of consistency and elegance is what sets it apart. Shoutout to Jose and Milena who served us tonight!!
I’m very disappointed to share this experience, especially given this restaurant’s high rating. From the moment we arrived, the interaction with the hostess felt unwelcoming. I was wearing scrubs, having just come from work, and noticed the hostess looked me up and down before telling us we would need to wait to see if a table was available—despite a large portion of the dining area being visibly empty.
We agreed to sit in the bar area instead, which had many open seats. Unfortunately, once seated, we were completely overlooked. We attempted to get the attention of both the bartender and nearby staff, but no one acknowledged us. After nearly twenty minutes without being offered water or service of any kind, we decided to leave.
I dine frequently throughout NYC across all neighborhoods and price points, and this was the first time I genuinely felt unwelcome. The overall indifference and lack of basic service left a lasting negative impression. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues around hospitality and guest treatment.
Places like this are a rarity in the city: first and foremost, the Michelin-starred chef's take on French/Italian Cote d'Azur food is top notch and just as good as his sister restaurants in Europe (La Table and Rampoldi in Monaco). Secondly, the space is cavernous – there's plenty of space between tables, two floors, and it's quiet enough to have a proper conversation with someone. Thirdly, it oozes character, something that many restauranteurs in NYC don't even realize they're missing. Somewhere between the retro, red-tinged light, red Baccarat-style glasses, and the classic Cote d'Azur music, you feel as though you've teleported to Monaco for the afternoon.
I normally don't mention pricing in my reviews, but the restaurant is also good value for money, particularly if you get the Theater prix-fixe menu for $68. I can't say enough good things about this place, and it always warms me up during the cold winter months in NYC!
