In full honesty wasn’t my first choice for a reservation but WOW I am sure glad this evening happened. I have already scheduled a revisit!
Let’s start with the service. Over the top. Amazing. Unreal. True team effort but absolute call out to Eliah. She is an absolute professional. She made the evening stellar. Above and beyond. GM Marc also a true gem. Checked on every table and there was no task beneath him. He was doing whatever he needed to do to ensure the guests were happy and left satisfied. Again, true team effort starts at the top. I was also fortunate enough to meet Mr Palladino himself. Wishing him continued success as his attention to detail is obvious everywhere.
Food. Everything was absolutely incredible. Meatball, onion bloom, cream spinach, NY Strip (cooked absolutely to perfection) snapper and sea bass with steamed veggies in a bag. I can’t speak highly enough about the flavors and again, attention to detail. How about your choice of three different steak sauces?! Lived each one almost equally. Lastly the hummingbird cake? Seriously? Could this have gone any better?
Pictures do not do this place justice. Absolutely gorgeous setting and Me Palladino you’ve outdone yourself. Absolutely counting the minutes to our revisit!!

Our waiter, Luke, was a delight. He knew the menu inside and out. Made assured and excellent recommendations. The owner, Joe Palladino, patrols the floor, visits guests, and monitors service. Food is traditional but with inventive flair. Same with the cocktail service. Good selection of wines by the glass. Sushi is delightfully fresh. Food very reasonable by NY standards. Setting is lovely. Sound well controlled. Will return! Congratulation to Joe's son for making the basketball team!
From the moment my security team and I walked into Palladinos, we were greeted with a lot of love and immediately seated.
The decor is very elegant and classy making it a great spot for a casual group dinner or a dinner date.

Palladino is the number 1 restaurant in New York by far. Only 6 weeks since launch and the restaurant was packed. The food was divine and the atmosphere sublime. Chef Sam Hazen is one of the most delightful, fun, warm, funny, interesting and skilled people we ever met. You will notice that all the people working there are cheerful and energized. Chef Sam's personality is infectious. Former chef of multiple Michelin star restaurants globally and the genius behind Tao, he has made his mark on Palladino. The food is absolutely delicious. You will learn about meat cuts from all over the world. Don't be afraid, you can easily split dishes. For those who don't eat meat there is a good range of fish and other dishes. New Yorkers go to Palladino and take all your friends from out of town here. The prospective of Grand Central is spectacular. I have never appreciated the majesty of the Station until last night sitting in the steak house just under the magnificent chandelers. We were all former New Yorkers and were gathering from France, Stockholm and Connecticut. It is our favorite New York experience. Chef Sam and our delightful server William made our experience perfect. They didn't even know we were celebrating life after our friends multiple medical family events. A true blessing.

A Standout in the City
Palladino is one of those rare finds that manages to be both in the heart of Grand Central and yet feel like a private, tucked-away gem. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and unhurried — exactly what you want when catching up with old friends.
The food? Exceptional. We started with the Steakhouse Caesar (with its addictive parmesan cookie), the Bluefin Tuna Roll, the creative Deli Roll (pastrami, sauerkraut, rye, pickle, wasabi mustard), and Chef Sam’s Meatball with smoked ricotta and garlic anchovy bread. Every bite was outstanding.
The entrées raised the bar even higher: the Kan Kan Duroc Pork Chop, a delicate fish special, and the Miso-Glazed Chilean Bass — which, honestly, was better than Nobu’s version. Each dish was beautifully executed and full of flavor.
Service deserves special recognition. Our server, Christian, was one of the best we’ve had in years. He struck the perfect balance — attentive without hovering — and even went out of his way to track down straws when the restaurant had run out. And it wasn’t just him; from the hostess to the attendants, every person we encountered made the evening feel personal and cared for.
We dine out at least twice a week, and Palladino instantly joined the short list of places we’ll return to, right alongside favorites like Quality Meats, ABC Kitchen, Le Pavillon, and Hutong. In fact, Palladino surpassed recent experiences at Union Square Café, Gramercy Tavern, Oceana, and even Peak — not because the food was better (though it often was), but because the service and hospitality elevated the entire night. That combination is rare in New York.
Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but every bite and every detail proved it’s worth it. If you’re looking for a restaurant that blends top-notch food, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that makes a night feel special without being stuffy — Palladino is it.
