There are three people making coffee and only one person in the kitchen on a Friday at lunchtime, so you end up waiting an hour for a simple to-go sandwich.

December 23. Worst service I’ve ever experienced anywhere ever. I walk in and wait by the hostess stand. There’s no sign to seat myself or obvious direction to order ahead and sit. The hostess walks by a couple times without even acknowledging me. It’s a busy holiday week, I get it, but zero acknowledgment. I wait, trying to catch someone’s eye. It’s a very small cafe; I know she and the two girls behind the counter doing tasks (but helping no one) notice me. After standing for about ten minutes, watching other customers not being helped and having to get up and get their own silverware and such after being ignored, I walk up to the barista and ask if I can be helped and seated. She replies, “Oh you can sit wherever you like” in an oblivious tone, knowing full well she was not at all oblivious to my need for service. Okay. That would have been nice to know. There is a hostess stand with handheld menus like any other restaurant, and if I am supposed to order ahead from the board and then find a seat, there is no indication AND said barista shares none of this. So, I sit down at a crumby table (literally — hasn’t been wiped). No menu or water brought to me or any server acknowledgement. So after another ten-fifteen minutes of zero service, I walk out and leave. If that’s “not how it’s done here”, totally fine, but communicate that or make it obvious. Don’t have a normal restaurant set up and abnormal restaurant service. Not a single “Hi, can I help you?” or “Are you ready to order?” or “Have a seat.” or or or even eye contact??? I’m not a middle aged entitled tourist, literally just a hungry twenty-something year old that would have been appalled if I were someone from corporate checking in or, heck, any customer observing such absolute zero competence and work ethic. I understand if you hate your job, gen z, but if you’re being paid, you still gotta do it otherwise the world falls apart. I have never left a negative review, but even two weeks later, it would be a public disservice not to. This is supposed to be an elevated brunch spot, and I was looking forward to trying papa’s breakfast bowl. I planned my entire morning around it and unfortunately never made it to another location to try it. Maybe I’ll try another state or something. BTW I went to Good Enough to Eat instead, which was lovely and full of human spirit and liveliness and good eggs benedict, even if its ratings are allegedly worse than Maman.

I went this past Sunday and am so glad I tried it out !! The drink was incredible and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I tried the hazelnut latte and it was delicious so I definitely recommend. Service was quick and everyone was so kind. Such a nice spot and I will definitely be back!

We recently hosted our wedding reception dinner here, and everything was truly incredible. From the planning process to the night of the event, Katie and James went above and beyond for us. Katie made planning effortless! She was patient, helpful, and so easy to work with. Every question and detail was handled with care, and it was a genuine pleasure coordinating everything with her. On the night of our reception, James exceeded every expectation. He anticipated our needs, checked in at the perfect times, and made sure the entire evening ran seamlessly. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how attentive and kind he was. The food was phenomenal, the service was flawless, and the atmosphere felt intimate and special — exactly what we hoped for our wedding dinner. We’re so appreciative of both Katie and James for making our celebration unforgettable. We highly recommend this place to anyone planning a special event.

Want to love this place because it’s cute and the food is good but the way the team runs this place pits customers against each other. Ignore all the signs coming in and just claim your spot immediately because staff will not direct traffic or enforce any signage posted. They will take your order and if you haven’t sat down will deliver your food to you standing. If you see a spot and are waiting for someone to bus a table before sitting down, good luck. The couple who came in 3 minutes after you ordered will just grab your spot. They have the right idea but conceptually but execution is definitely ruining the vibe. Whoever in corporate should take note, because vibes are all we have these days…
