I tried to explain my situation and even offered to purchase a drink or leave a tip, but I was met with rudeness and told, “this is how the service industry works.” As someone who has worked in the service industry for years, I was genuinely taken aback. I was always taught that hospitality and empathy are at the heart of good service, and I left feeling disrespected and disappointed. I had hoped for kindness and understanding, especially on such a miserable day, but instead felt unwelcome. I hope the management takes this as constructive feedback.
