  My girlfriend and I came here on New Year’s Eve just to have a drink and celebrateWe arrived at 10 and plan to leave before 11 to watch the ball drop with Family (we live 15 minutes walk away). We are not big drinkers. As soon as we walked in, the host told us we had to buy drink tickets. She gave us a few options, one was around $60 for champagne and a shot, plus others I honestly don’t remember because, again, we don’t drink like that. We told her that we don’t do shots and just wanted two margaritas. She then sold us 2 - $20 tickets and specifically said it would cover a margarita and a shot, we thought cool. We took the tickets and found a spot near the bar. When we ordered two margaritas, the bartender immediately said the tickets were for shots only. Told him what the host told us. He flat out said no, shots only. I went back to the host and told her what he said. She told me she’d talk to him. They spoke, and nothing changed. I went back again, same answer. At that point, I noticed the bartender talking to an older man who seemed like a manager since he was interacting with staff and the host. I’m pretty sure they were talking about us. After being told “shot only” for the third time, I asked the host for a refund because we don’t drink shots and were clearly misled. She said she’d talk to him again. While I’m standing there, the bartender walks over and starts speaking to her in Spanish. This is a Spanish bar, and I don’t speak Spanish, but his tone was clearly disrespectful. He kept looking at me, then back at her, going back and forth for almost a minute. During this interaction, he shined a small flashlight directly in my face. It felt intimidating and unnecessary like he was trying to make me uncomfortable or signal that I should leave. For context, my girlfriend and I were the only two Black people there. If buying a bottle was required, that’s fine let us know. Don’t give me the option to buy margaritas, take my money, then switch up and treat me like I’m the problem. The way this was handled felt disrespectful and discriminatory. Between the mixed messaging, being talked about in another language, and the intimidation, the entire experience was uncomfortable. I will never come back here. If you’re Black and thinking about coming, be aware of how you might be treated. And honestly, brush up on your Spanish because I’m pretty sure they don’t speak kindly about everyone.

  The food and vibes here were excellent and affordable with healthy portion sizes. Manny our server was speedy and ensured all our needs were meet. We grately appreciate the experience and look forward to visiting again!

  Good food and service. What ruined it was the DJ. He was too loud to actually enjoy the game or have a conversation with someone.

  Good food and a nice place ruined by painfully loud music. I went there to watch the UFC fight on a Saturday night and the DJ’s music was too loud to actually enjoy the game
