I ordered a veggie burger but was served chicken instead. I am vegetarian and had already eaten some of it before realizing. This is completely unacceptable and disgusting. Very disappointed and upset by this serious mistake.

I wanted to buy a small coffee this am at McDonalds that was boldly advertised for 99 cents except they had no small cups. Hard to imagine that their inventory management was so sloppy. I had to buy a medium coffee at a higher price. A classic bait and switch! Shame on McDonalds. To add injury, my order went to the back of the queue and I had to wait 6 minutes for someone to pour my coffee. It would seem that inventory is not the only thing that has gone awry at McDonalds. Perhaps McDonalds should pay as much attention to their internal processes and customer service as they do to the physical appearance of their restauants.
At the same visit, my friend ordered a black medium coffee only to find that it contained milk. Seems like the staff have either a linguistic or comprehension problem.

If you’re an uber driver they are so rude at the McDonald on Kempt. I’ve dealt with this location now twice and the way they speak to uber drivers is extremely rude. It’s honestly unbelievable. Not just to me but I’ve been inside and heard how they spoke to the uber drivers next to me. Like so rude for no reason! Just an fyi we dont get a million dollars to do uber so to be coming into the store at -20 degrees to be spoke to in the utmost rudest manner is honestly a shame on your staff. Never coming to this location again ! You’re not the only McDonald in Halifax ! absolutely terrible experience. Keep your apologies for someone that cares. Don’t go here it’s not worth the $10-$15 in all honesty

Never before have I felt the need to leave a one star review on any business, I’m usually the type to say “hey, mistakes happen, such is life” and move on with my day, but this is unacceptable. For the past 5 times that I have gone here for breakfast, I have ordered the exact same thing in the drive through. A sausage BELT with habanero sauce on an everything bagel, and a BELT with no egg & no leaf lettuce on a plain bagel. Both meals. Both with large double double coffees with oat milk. Every. Single. Time. These guys have gotten it so far wrong that I’m left questioning if I got someone else’s order.
Not once has the no egg request been adhered to, only twice have we gotten no lettuce, and most days the habanero sauce comes on the side in the little packages. Like I said, annoying, but not the worst thing in the world. Twice I have gotten just the bagel with sausage and egg, and most days they lose the sausage entirely.
Today was by far the worst day, and will be the last time I ever step foot onto this McDonald’s property. One of my sandwiches was some strange combination of 2 tomatoes, an egg, bacon, and a pile of lettuce, and the other sandwich was 2 eggs between a bagel. How in the hell do you take “belt with no egg” and turn it into “two eggs between a bagel”? I don’t know who they have making the food here, but if they fail at making a sandwich 5/5 times, I guarantee that the rest of their standards are equally on the floor.
If you don’t wanna pay $17 for a crunchy double egg sandwich, don’t go here.

-Order accuracy is abysmal. There's always at LEAST one or two things incorrect or missing in any given order.
-Recent renovations makes the counter/lobby/dining area deeply cold and impersonal. Feels like they're trying to hide everyone in the back to not have to deal with people. At this point I'd gladly trade the old open-counter + tiny, crowded waiting area layout for this cold, blank, empty grey wall vibe. Such a downgrade. 👎
-Kiosks NEVER print receipts, so if there's something wrong with your order you can't even fill out the survey to report your issue. I've noticed this adds a level of confusion for some customers; I've observed staff coming out of hiding to announce the order number, only for a waiting customer to approach and say, "Uh I guess it's mine? I didn't get a receipt from the machine, it didn't print anything and I didn't see my number. Is it (items in order)?" And of course, staff members just head back behind the grey wall of doom, and never refill the receipt paper.
-Kiosks won't accept partial payments from gift cards, so if you have a small balance left on a card or two, you'll have to take your chances with waiting to eventually get served at the counter.
-Mobile app does not accept gift cards - which is not this location's fault, of course - but still really sucks. It's the only reason I've been using the kiosks lately instead of the app and running into all of these issues.
-Bathroom is also consistently terrible. Always dirty and smelly. About a week ago, I went into the bathroom with my toddler to wash our hands before eating; the hand dryer didn't work and there was not a shred of paper towel to be found. Air-drying my wet hands by waving them around like a lunatic, I'm lovin' it.
Overall: I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. This location used to be an okayish-yet-dependable 3 out of 5 stars, now it's firmly a bottom-of-the-barrel 1. Only place worse is Torbay Road McDonald's.
