Simple overrated, I went for the ambience but honestly they have good ambience and they have a good level of signature cocktails but the food is not good for the price where I am charged extra for chicken in chicken curry and goat in goat dum biriyani, I am not sure how one can explain a chicken curry sufficient for only 2 people as nearly 30$ implies quantity is half and price is high for that, even when taste is very average compared to other desi restaurants in Jersey City ! If the food is really good overpriced part is acceptable when it comes to certain level of resto cafés or restaurants (many are there in Hoboken side too, where the food is really good to be charged high). But this one purely doesn’t meet the standard of charging the food for hefty prices. Even though I know it is going to be defended, Want to give my own review paying for something this high. Genuine experience, no mislead, I liked their service in fact where it was prof.

Restaurant Review: Brick Lane – A Surprising Gem Behind the Classic Name I almost skipped right past Brick Lane today. The name is one of those super common ones for Indian spots — instantly reminds you of the famous curry street in London or any number of mid-tier places that promise “authentic” but deliver average. I walked by thinking “typical overused name, probably so-so,” but hunger won, and curiosity pulled me in. Thank goodness it did. The interior immediately felt welcoming — modern yet cozy, with warm lighting, stylish decor, and a vibe that’s inviting without trying too hard. Then came the food, and wow — it completely flipped my expectations. Their tomato soup is hands-down the best I’ve ever tasted in an Indian restaurant. Velvety smooth, gently spiced with just the right balance of tangy tomato and warming Indian aromatics. It’s comforting, flavorful, and addictive — I could’ve happily had a whole bowl as my meal. The menu really shines by showcasing the best of India’s regional cuisines — not just the usual suspects, but thoughtful dishes that highlight diverse flavors and techniques. Everything was executed with real skill: vibrant, balanced, and bursting with taste. The presentation was spot-on too — colorful and delicious. Service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and efficient — they made the whole experience feel special without being over-the-top. Bottom line: Don’t let the “Brick Lane” name fool you into thinking it’s just another generic spot. This place delivers standout food, especially that unreal tomato soup, and a level of quality that punches way above what the name suggests.
(That tomato soup alone is worth the visit — it deserves its own award.) 100% going back, and highly recommend you give it a shot. Skip the preconceptions and dive in! 🌶️🍲🍅

We have visited Bricklane Curry House a few times and our experiences have been positive. It offers quality North Indian food, great service, and very good value. The food and beverages menu has plenty of options to choose from, the service is polite and hospitable, and their buffet is incredible value for money. The ambiance is nothing much to speak of but all in all, worth a visit/doing takeout from here!

Very good food, kind and attentive service (thank you Manisha!), and a gorgeous interior. It’s really lovely, the decor doesn’t have the slight cheesiness that is typical of many modern Indian restaurants. The daal makhani was fantastic and the naan was wonderful. Only downside was that the Ramleela cocktail wasn’t great — slightly too bitter and needed a hint of sweetness for balance. There’s a nice wine list, I’ll try that next time. Will certainly be back!! Update: came back again and tried the pav bhaji and paneer butter masala, which were both incredible. I also ordered the mango cocktail (on the recommendation of our lovely server, Vineet) which was made with real pulp and it was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend!!

Honestly pretty disappointed in this place. After reading all the reviews I was pretty excited to try this place so we ordered the mutton keema and chicken 65. I will say the food tasted good but my god is the portion size something to laugh at. We paid $48 for two mutton keema. They gave us two TINY little HALF filled 6oz containers. To pay $48 for a meal and to feel like you hardly ate dinner is insane. This doesn’t include the price for the chicken 65 which totaled $76 together. The only reason to give it an extra star is the food tasted good but I would probably never revisit, ESPECIALLY the takeout Update Post Comment: Lowering to one star. The BOGO promo is absolutely ridiculous. You put out a promotion for people to try food with a promo but in reality you halve the portion size??? Effectively telling clients you ordered two portions of half the size... Meaning they just payed normal prices. At that point why even offer a promo in the first place. People limit their options assuming they are using the promo when they could have ordered anything at menu price. What a dubious business model
