Over 20 years ago, our founder Josh Vach visited the coast of California. He went with a desire to find the perfect wave and enjoy the amazing authentic Mexican food that California has to offer. When he returned, Josh set out on a new adventure to bring those same authentic Baja flavors to his coastal home in North Carolina. Fueled by his life changing trip, K38 Baja Grill, which was named after his favorite surfing spot at the Km marker 38 in Baja, was born.
Today, we continue to nurture and respect the love and passion that Josh put into his restaurant through our food and atmosphere in the hopes that you too can experience what our founder found so special about Baja, California.

On line order. Ready when I arrived and easy to pick up. Food was delicious. I ordered chimichanga, they always package the toppings separately so it doesn’t get soggy. Only restaurant I know that does that!

Dinner to go from K38 Baja Grille, and it was absolutely outstanding! From start to finish, the experience was flawless. The Guacamole was fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor – the perfect start to the meal.
The Elote Dip was a game-changer: smoky, cheesy, and just the right amount of spice, making it impossible to stop eating.
The star of the show was the Tower 7 Burrito with Grilled Mahi. The fish was perfectly cooked – tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection.
Wrapped in a warm tortilla with vibrant, fresh ingredients, every bite was a burst of Baja-inspired goodness. It’s clear that K38 takes pride in quality and flavor.
If you’re craving bold, coastal flavors and top-notch service, K38 Baja Grille is the place to go. Even as takeout, the food felt like a full dining experience. Highly recommend!

Wanted to leave a good review because the food and the service were good but $15 for a SKINNY ESPOLON margarita is literally insane ?!? My friend order a dish that was $12 on the menu but got charged $18 instead because she wanted soft shell instead of hard shell….. $6 up charge for what? Didn’t list anywhere on the menu how much the charge would be or even on the receipt. Server couldn’t even really explain to us why that happened. It’s in a Harris teeter parking lot off Independence. We aren’t even in the “expensive” part of town. That’s ridiculous. First and last time going here.
