Over 20 years ago, our founder Josh Vach visited the coast of California. He went with a desire to find the perfect wave and enjoy the amazing authentic Mexican food that California has to offer. When he returned, Josh set out on a new adventure to bring those same authentic Baja flavors to his coastal home in North Carolina. Fueled by his life changing trip, K38 Baja Grill, which was named after his favorite surfing spot at the Km marker 38 in Baja, was born.
Today, we continue to nurture and respect the love and passion that Josh put into his restaurant through our food and atmosphere in the hopes that you too can experience what our founder found so special about Baja, California.

If you're looking for good food, this is not it. The only seasoning you can taste is garlic. The "mexican rice" tastes like white rice cooking in tomato paste. Don't trust these 5 star reviews. They have to be for the margaritas; they can't possibly be for the food.

So, we decided to go on Monday night, 10/27. We thought great, we will start coming on Mondays for 1/2 price fajitas. We have ordered the fajitas before and knew they were pretty good. When we received our order, there was no guacamole as one of the sides. We asked about why it was missing and the waiter said “we don’t give that to you on 1/2 price fajitas night. Seriously, that little dollop of guacamole is going to be extra on a dish you already provide it for every other day!! Either it’s part of the regular fajita dinner or don’t bother calling it a special.
