Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I ordered for a second time through uber eats and literally got nothing I ordered. I ordered a 3 piece chicken tender meal and got 1 tender and fries (I ordered onion rings instead of fries and didn’t get those) and no drink!!! Also ordered a pie and didn’t get that!! The service is slow and not efficient!! Don’t order at this location!!

It looks more like a corporation cafeteria than a burger joint. Ordering was ok at the counter. The drink area was messy and dirty. Napkin holder was empty. One of the ice tea containers was empty. They give you a number and bring your food to you. My burger was mildly tasty but was medium warm if that. I was expecting a piping hot burger. Didn’t happen. Fries were awful. No flavor. There are no condiments out. We had to go ask for ketchup. Why aren’t condiments out? A girl finally walked around with a small tray of condiments. No salt and pepper anywhere. A cold burger, crappy french fries and bad service I will not go back unless I hear things have changed. This place has promise but they need an onsite enthusiastic manager to make a lot of changes. It seems like they are trying to get by with bare minimum.

So I was really excited to hear that we were getting Whataburger in our town. What a disappointment this was. The burger was fair at best. Not in the same league as anything at In-n-Out. Not as good as a Big Mac, Whopper, Qtr pounder at McDonalds, or many other fast food burgers. Fries tasted ok, but were soggy. Service was poor. Best part of the meal was my unsweet tea. Now I crave even more that we had In-n-Out on the East Coast.

Most places I go to have a designated shelf or area for online pickups — I even noticed they had one for DoorDash and Uber Eats, but not for their own online orders, which doesn’t make much sense. When I finally got my order, one of the employees (who I believe might’ve been a manager) tossed my bag down and spoke to me in a rude tone. It really caught me off guard. Then, when I got to my car to eat, the fries were cold and rubbery, and the burger was cold too — like it had been sitting out for a while. I had set my pickup time for 12:20 and arrived right on time, so there’s no reason the food should’ve been that cold. Overall, I was really disappointed. Even the atmosphere felt dull — plain orange and white walls, bare tables, and no warmth or personality. Honestly, McDonald’s feels more inviting inside. The place almost gave off “hospital cafeteria” vibes…

My brother and I placed our order together and sat at the tables and waited almost 45 mins for our food. They were busy, but not backed up. Atleast a dozen people got their orders before us and 2 families that were behind us in ordering finished and left. Miss. Kayla came by and ask about out ticket number and I told her our number and how long we were still waiting. She immediately jumped on it and had our food out to us HOT and Fresh. And then she also corrected the people in the back only giving my brother a 1/2 order of onion rings. If the service had been like the previous 4 visits, I'd give them a 5. They deserve a 3 today, but Miss Kayla stepped it up and saved the day and our dinner. For that, she gets a 5 and the store a 4 for having her! Thank you Miss Kayla and I know every time I see you here my meal will be enjoyable cause of good people like you! Thank you!
