Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Many customers reported issues with food temperature, with several mentioning cold fries and lukewarm burgers. Some praised specific items like the patty melt and jalapeño ketchup, but overall satisfaction with food quality was mixed.
Service Issues
Numerous reviews highlighted slow service and disorganization, particularly in the drive-thru and mobile order fulfillment. Customers expressed frustration over long wait times and incorrect orders.
Staff Attitude
While some customers praised individual staff members for their kindness and attentiveness, others noted negative experiences with staff attitudes, particularly during busy times.
Cleanliness and Atmosphere
Feedback indicated that the dining area was often crowded and noisy, with some reports of cleanliness issues, particularly in the bathrooms.
Expectations vs. Reality
Several customers felt that the restaurant did not live up to the hype associated with Whataburger, citing disappointment in both food quality and overall experience.

We order our food. They brought it out our whole order was wrong except for our fried and onion rings. Had to get both sandwiches remade. They brought them out and one was still wrong by the time we got to eat our fried and onion rings was cold. This was my first time at whataburger mostly be my last.

We went through the drive thru, once we ordered and drove up, it was crowded. They gave us our drinks first, and we waited what seemed like forever for our food. It was about 10 minutes. We got back to the house only 5 minutes way, the food was cold. Burgers and fries should be hot.
I will say this location hasn't been opened very long. Overall I was not impressed.

Tried them for the first time and was not impressed the drive thru was a nightmare when you pulled up there were several people loitering and when asked what we wanted and told them a we had an app order they just waved us on through without putting any info in their tablet while waiting we had to listen to another employee? Talk on the phone while sitting on abucket beside the backdoor when we finally get to where you pick up your order there was one little girl running herself ragged and there seemed no way to determine which order belonged to which car needless to say it took almost 20 minutes to get through the drive and then or burgers were way overcooked except the bacon which didn't seemed to have been cooked at all and the fries were cold and soggy the only bright point was the dr pepper blackberry milkshake I will not be going back any time soon

I stopped at this Whataburger on October 24th and had one of the most disappointing experiences. I arrived at 7:24 PM and chose curbside since I had a sleeping baby and a tired 5-year-old with me. After waiting 15 minutes with no update and no one bringing out our order, I had no choice but to go through the drive thru where I waited another 15 minutes. There was a clear lack of urgency from the staff. I could see multiple employees on their phones, and the overall atmosphere felt unorganized and unprofessional. When we finally received our food, the fries were cold, scattered loosely inside the bag, and the portion was noticeably smaller than expected.
We were traveling 2.5 hours from home, and this stop was supposed to be a quick, convenient meal for our family. Instead, it was frustrating and disappointing. I understand this location is newly opened, but I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve service and order accuracy moving forward.
