After two separate phone calls of placing our cake order, and then following up with the cake decorator herself, I was under the impression that everything was clearly understood and clarified for pick up the next week. When I went to pick up our cake, I immediately opened the box and was upset with what I saw. I asked the gentleman behind the bakery counter why there was a cut in the heart as that was not intended or asked for. He looked at me and says “I don’t know, I didn’t make it.” and walked away. In trying to keep the spirits light and focus on the important parts of our wedding weekend, I simply paid and left the store. I am just amazed and still confused as to why we had a cut right in the middle. All I can say is that the taste of the cake was still good and just took some at home touch ups to make pretty.
