A mom and her son came in behind me and walked around to speak with the manager. The manager’s tone toward them was noticeably rude and made me uncomfortable just watching. The son, who seemed like a kid, was clearly nervous, but she spoke to him in an intimidating way—asking for his name, making him spell it, and just overall lacking kindness or professionalism. During all this, I was still standing there with no greeting or acknowledgment. Two different employees came in and clocked in, but neither made eye contact or said anything to me. Both were immediately directed elsewhere by the manager. By that point, it was clear that customer service here was not a priority, so I decided to leave. I understand that fast food can be fast-paced and stressful, but basic courtesy—like a hello or letting someone know they’ll be helped shortly—goes a long way. What I experienced today was the opposite. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and disappointing. Management here needs to be reminded that treating customers with kindness and respect should always come first.
