Steve's Hot Dogs, founded by musician Steve Ewing of The Urge, is the home of the Official St. Louis Style hot dog. Voted Best Hot Dogs in St. Louis, the smoked all-beef hot dogs at this legendary local eatery are second-to-none. It all starts with a fresh-baked hearty companion bakery bun topped with a cold smoked and grilled Nathan's Famous dog, each one topped to perfection with creative combinations of toppings.
Steve's Hot Dogs is also known for some of the best smashburgers you're going to find. Steve's award-winning smashburgers are made from a blend of chuck, angus and sirloin - try it classic style or topped to the hilt. Pair with "St. Louis's Best French Fries" (St. Louis Magazine) or one of a selection of local beers and brews for the perfect lunch or dinner.
Many customers praised the hot dogs and unique menu items, with several calling them the best they've ever had, while others reported issues with stale buns and inconsistent food quality.

Horrible experience which I won’t fully share here. Customer service from the young lady working the register and condiment station was egregious! She treated me like a person she knew and had an issue with. Literally smirked while she poured extra condiments and pickles on my allstar burger. Pickles I ordered on the side! as I walked out the door, she chuckled saying oh I just remembered you didn’t want pickles on your burger. Not sure what her issue is but she is definitely a poor representation of Steve’s brand and I won’t be back. $17 for lunch when there are other options. In this economy paying close to $20 for lunch to be treated poorly and have an employee purposely ruin your meal is a no thank you!

First of all, we were a surprise 11 top at 1pm. There were two people working and a sprinkling of other guests. One by one, we ordered and took our seats. Dejanae and Dustin got it all together and everything was right! Some might say "well, that's their job", however its NOT something to be taken for granted.
Second, the food was awesome! We had a variety of menu features and all were delicious. Absolutely recommend. If you want to get really crazy, head over to the Fountain for a flight of tiny ice-cream cones after 😋 Their coffee drinks are great, too!!

The chili cheese fries were everything I ever wanted. Delicious! We had a great meal in a great place and got to meet some local makers and purchase some of their wares. It was a great Sunday on Delmar!

This was my first time here and it was a great experience. The staff was terrific. Everyone was helpful and informative. Needless to say the food was delicious. Happily I live close by and will be back to visit soon. It's definitely not just any hot dog. Stop by and see what makes this place unique.
