We’ve dined here for 5 out of 9 of our wedding anniversaries; this will likely be the last. Over the past 2 years I’ve noticed service has declined but this visit it appears to have taken a nose dive. For a 7pm res,I checked my coat and visited the ladies room where the trash was full and whatever music they were playing included obscenities such as the F word. Upon being seated at a window seat I shut the blinds since it was freezing out; my husband asked if the seats we were fine and I said yes as I didn’t see any better seats available- it was a full house. I found it off putting to see a server counting his tips right in the open. Straight away I ordered two clover whiskeys, our appetizers, and dinner. At one point they used to make cocktails table side and that experience was just lovely. I love mixing cocktails at home; and for $30, we received two heavily orange forward cocktails that lacked any depth and simply tasted like I could get them at a dive bar if I didn’t know any better. Our Oysters Rockefeller, were 3 shells filled primarily with spinach. Now, coming from the culinary world I’m not one to complain or send food back-I just don’t return. So whenever they asked how everything was I’d reply “pretty good”. The sushi was good but again, this is ocean prime, I’m expecting excellent seafood. Moving on, I received my New York strip Oscar style and Au gratin. My spouse chose the lobster linguine, and we were satisfied. Yes, I went for the bread basket which was simply 2 frozen pretzel sticks, a loaf, and 2 long crackers with everything seasoning and 1/4 c of whipped butter- essentially a basket that could’ve been acquired from an Aldi( no shade,♥️ Aldi). When our food was taken away to be boxed, two different serves took the food and the latter discarded our bread. Adam was a gracious server, and he did get us another replacement basket. We also received a dessert oth for our anniversary which was really good. For close to $300 for 2 adults, I’d be happy if the service and ambiance match what they claim. I suppose this is what the older generations have endured as well- watching standards decline( and we’re early 30s). All in all it’s simply time to find another celebratory “upscale/fine dining” experience.

My first dining experience was last night. The service was phenomenal abd the restaurant is beautiful. The food was terrible to say the least. Mash potatoes tasted like instant potatoes, the shrimp was not deveined. The expresso martini was delicious. We spent 160.00 and what a disappointment!!!

This isn’t my first time visiting Ocean Prime. In fact, this is my usual restaurant of choice for my birthday dinner every year. Last night was one of my least favorite times at this location. My boyfriend and I decided to come here for NYE dinner and I don’t think I made the best impression with him. It was his first time ever dining at this restaurant and I’m sure it will be the last. We were seated in the back room of the restaurant. My boyfriend’s first thought was that we could’ve just sat at the bar or gone to a different restaurant. Our waiter came over and introduced himself and gave us time to look over the menu. He had a few other tables and said he would be back after he dropped drinks off to the other table. Well, he never came back. He seemed to be intrigued with the table in the corner because they were of Asian decent as well and spent most of his time there. Another one waiter actually took our order for our entrees and sides. When it was time to pay, our original waiter brought the bill over and almost seemed as though he was trying to rush us. Never mind the fact that we hadn’t been sitting there for an hour yet. I used tap to pay for the meal and expressed that I would be paying the tip in cash. He came over to our table twice to see if I had put the tip on the table yet. Unacceptable. Again, it seemed as though he was trying to rush us to leave. The $8 bread service is absurd as well. I’ve never been to a fine dining restaurant that charges for a basket of bread. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw they started charging for bread a while back. I doubt this will be my restaurant of choice going forward. The food was good, but the service and ambiance weren’t that of the Ocean Prime that I knew in the past.

In the past six months I just started going back to your restaurant. In the past it was very mediocre for a high end restaurant. The food now I have to say is excellent but I have a couple issues that I just can't get pass. Charging for a bread basket is outrageous and should be served automatically and second I normally drink Lemondrop martinis made with lemoncello and you charge $13 for the lemoncello and than an additional upcharge of $5.00 for martini and then $15.00 for a shot of Chambord. As good as my meals have been, I think I have to avoid your restaurant again

An absolute amazing meal. Heard good things about Ocean Prime so we decided to make it a date night. The food was excellent. We started with Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli and the Jumbo lump crab cake. We had the sea scallops and ahi tuna for our mains and for sides we chose the jalapeno au gratin and the miso-chili roasted broccoli. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. I’m already planning my trip back. We had Adam as our server and he was excellent. Side note: one of the best “sides” menu I’ve ever seen.
