- JSJaike SpottedWolfOct 9, 20251.0I didn’t expect much for the coffee knowing this is a bank, and banking is their business, but not only was the coffee mediocre but they don’t understand accessibility issues. Although I have an affinity for coffee shops that are restful, comfortable spaces to gather (and this cafe offers hard, wood furnishings only), I wouldn’t judge a cafe on that alone. However, as a patron with a back injury, who can’t sit on hard, flat surfaces without support more than 5 minutes at a time, when I tried to use a softer chair from the nook that you can only sit in if you have a Capitol One or Discover card, customer service refused the chair, stating the policy on account holders only and didn’t offer a didn’t accommodation after I told them why I was using the chair. I just opened a small business. Where I may have considered using Capitol One for a business account previously, today’s incident will have me looking elsewhere.

Capital One Cafés offer a modernized, friendly approach to banking that provides a low pressure way to get support. While we don’t have traditional bank tellers in our Cafés, customers can use our self-service options to get everyday banking done., even on the weekend. Ambassadors are on hand to assist you along the way with your banking questions, and can even help you apply for an account. Capital One Checking account holders can use Café ATMs fee-free to check their balance, deposit or withdraw cash, make credit card payments and more. Come in for everyday banking–stay to enjoy a handcrafted beverage. You can also:
- Replace, reissue or activate your debit card
- Lock and unlock your debit card
- Change your debit card PIN
- Receive sign-in support
- Update account information like your address, phone number and email address
- Place or remove a stop payment on a check or ACH

Account holders (18+) can reserve a nook—a private workspace with tables and outlets—when they’re in the Café or from their Capital One mobile app. When in the Café, visitors can scan the QR code on the door of the nook to access the reservation portal to complete their booking. As of December 2024, account holders can make reservations in the Capital One mobile app by searching for their preferred Café, viewing the details of that Café and selecting "Reserve a Nook" to access the reservation portal.
