We had dinner at Rare ar the Enncore in MA on 1/3/26z we were seated and greeted by our waiter. The GM came over, Adriana, who introduced herself, wished us a happy new year and said to let her know if there is anything she can do for us. The food was amazing. I had the filet mignon cooked perfectly and my husband had the NY strip steak . We ordered a flight of sides ( potatoe puree, mushrooms and Mac and cheese) you get a choice of 5-6 to choose from. . Delicious ! We ordered a nice bottle of cab and it was chilled for a cab. Our server, PJ was very personable and attentive. I noticed Adriana going table to table. I saw she oversaw the entire staff and was very hands on. Professional never goes Unnoticed. Thank you ! We will be back next time we are I the area. Kudos to the chef as well and all the staff.

I typically do not write reviews but this restaurant was SO BAD and so overpriced for the quality and service so here it is. The atmosphere is beautiful so no complaints. The service was baffling to say the least. We waited 45 minutes before anyone took a drink order and didn’t get our drinks for almost an hour. We had to asked for bread twice because no-one was taking our order. We got it over an hour later. That was probably the most delicious part of the meal although we were all really hungry by then.A couple of the servers were nice but our main server was mostly inattentive and we felt like we were bothering him if we needed anything. The chopped salad was good . After that all mediocre or substandard . The steaks at Longhorn are better than these. My cowboy bone in was not juicey or fatty like a typical cowboy steak . The filet was incredibly small and tasteless . We would never return here . A huge disappointment with all the hoopla over this place.

My reason for the lower ranking are as follows: 1) Steak came overcooked (ordered Medium, got well done). The fact that a) this is a steakhouse and all they focus on is steak and they still got it wrong is a large miss and b) the fact it made it out of the kitchen is a bit of a miss on process within the kitchen. Who's at the wheel? To be fair, manager did come and apologize and say that the Chef recognized the mistake. 2) Ordered ribeye which is supposed to be juicy and tender. Instead got a bit of a tough piece of meat. Not sure if this is due to the dry aging process, but not what I was expecting or used to. I'm also used to the fat being a bit more prevalent within the steak adding to its flavor, but didn't get that typical taste when eating it. Also lacked a bit of salt other than in the center pieces of the steak. 3) The price to value ratio is off for me. I recognize that this can be a very personal/subjective metric, but I was expecting an amazing food experience for these prices. 2 people with tip came to $200 total (no drinks, shared app, no sides). Chopped Salad + Ribeye Steak + Chicken = $170. But it's also the fact that you're in ENCORE and I may not be their typical target customer which is totally fair. So be the judge for yourself. There was definitely some great aspects such as the service and the bread. Bread was warm and amazingly soft. Service was on point. Water was filled at all times and they were very nice. The decor was really nice and beautiful.

Zero STARS! Even worse - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY at this RACIST and CLASSIST ESTABLISHMENT! The disappointment continued long after the incorrect meals! Christmas dinner with my husband and my mother was ruined! $700 meals for a family of 3 are no surprise. We’ve spent double the price for only 2 at amazing dining establishments like Carbone, Meat Market, Maple&Ash, Komodo, and even triple the price at Papi Steak and Novikov. At the bare minimum you would expect your order to be taken correctly for a steakhouse that claims to be the best in Boston. The competition is a city that standouts in seafood?! Yea, no chance in any other major city! You’re better off at Smith & Wollensky. Empty restaurant and still made to wait on Christmas when we arrived 10mins early. Not a big deal but definitely set the tone for the “company first over customer first environment”. My mother and I were questioned about ordering our steaks “medium” 4 times - as though our waiter was expecting the black women to surely want well done steaks. Our order for sides was encouraged to be the cheaper “flight” order of 3 mini portions while I insisted 3 full orders of lobster mac, creamed spinach, and roasted corn. What came to the table were Burnt CRISPY WELL DONE filets for my mother and I, while my white husband received his steak Medium as ordered! The sides came as a FLIGHT and included an error of lobster mac, corn, and mashed potatoes. When asked to correct just the item of creamed spinach missing and remove the potatoes, we were told “sorry, just keep the potatoes we’ll bring the spinach”. A FULL serving of spinach was brought out, leading to confusion as to why we were served the flight at all. After 1 cut into the filets, the fully brown dry steak was alerted to the waiter who seemed surprised and said “yes that is a well done steak”. The steak was taken off of my plate as my mother refused another failed attempt at resolution. My husband ate his mediocre steak and my mother ate her side of shrimp as the kitchen took over 20 minutes to bring my new filet out at MEDIUM temperature! The manager came over to the table and gave a 2 sentence apology while I was sitting with an empty plate and offered no resolution. We ALWAYS order minimum 2 desserts because we love to taste rather than indulge but it was an absolute NO at RARE - We gave up on the service and the food quality and opted to end our Christmas night without another disappointment. We’re not the type to ruffle feathers; I’ve ordered an A5 Wagyu and received domestic and it’s fine with a decent apology and correcting the bill, but RARE took ZERO effort to OFFER a remedy to the situation, only bringing out my corrected steak after I’ve filled up on the sides and my mother not being able to get past 2 bites of her steak. Furthering the insult, we received a copy of the bill the next morning and it clearly stated “medium well” on the tickets, STEREOTYPING BLACK PATRONS, confirming what we uncomfortably felt that night. We were also charged for the full creamed spinach which was another of Rare’s error. We’ve contacted the GM Adriana, the hotel food and beverage staff, and the front desk of the Encore multiple times over the past 2 days and there has yet to be ANY type of resolution just “we’ll pass the message along”. Take your money elsewhere!!!!

Super Disappointed! I took my fiancé here for her birthday because it looks like a beautiful place and I was hoping that the food and service would match the prestige appearance, boy was I wrong. My server was nice but not as attentive as you would expect. Once we were seated, it took about 20 minutes for them to come greet us. I would understand if it was a busy night but the place still had empty seats so I expected a little more attention to detail. Our food took about 40 minutes to get to us and once it arrived, I thought I was being pranked. I ordered the surf & Turf, the half lobster was dried out and my steak was burned. I mean burned... Looked like a hockey puck to be honest, but I figured to give it a shot and not judge a book ny the cover. For being a 110 dollar plate, this seemed unacceptable. My Finace also had a steak and hers wasn't as charred as mine however, her loaded mash looked like it had been used as display because it was dried out and not very tasty. The baked mac was about the only thing that I can rate " decent". Once our server came back to check on us, she noticed that we was not really eating and asked us if the food was ok. I didn't want to be a complainer but I had to point it out since it was just not edible. She apologized and sent the manager over. Upon his arrival he also asked about our meal, I showed him and he proceeded to explain to me how steak is cooked. I listened and explained to him that I am familiar with steak and have had it in the past. His explanation could have been taken as an insult but I was there for my woman and I want to make things any worse. They offered to remake our food but we had waited a long time and didn't want to wait another 40 minutes to eat. So we simply asked for the check, they asked us if we wanted to take the food with us since it was hardly picked at but we would have only thrown it away so it was pointless. The icing on the cake was the manager coming over and telling me he was going to remove the 19 dollar potato.... We went there with high hopes but seriously this has to have been once of my worst experiences with food at a so called premium steakhouse. We paid the bill and was so taken by it all that we didn't even stay at the Casino. I will never return or recommend anyone to go there. If you want a good steak, try Moo in Boston or Fred & Steves steakhouse in Lincoln RI. Not once has any of them places served me a charred steak
