Frankie and johnny’s restaurant was opened in 1942 by Johnny Morreale and his then brother in law Frank Gaudin. The restaurant thrived feeding hungry dock workers and merchant men who made a living working on th river. Besides the abunundant seafood prepared with care, the hallmark of this small eatery was Johnny’s warm personality and genuine love of the restaurant business. Today we continue Johnny’s mission by pursuing our one simple goal: to be the best neighborhood restaurant in New Orleans. Thank you for visiting Frankie & Johnny’s!

Tasty food. We went here after a local recommended it and we weren’t disappointed, the food was lovely and flavourful. The red beans and rice is delicious! The service was a bit slow to begin with but once we got served our waitress was lovely and helpful.

Amazing food and service. Allowed us to bring our 2 medium sized dogs into the building. They stayed tucked under the table and were able to share our awesome lunch! The waitress was super friendly.

We walked in on New Year's Day and were seated quickly. Food was delicious, especially the special that day which was black eyed peas and cabbage.

Called at 6:30 on a Sunday to verify they do take away and was told yes. We arrived at 7pm and was told no take away orders were being done. We asked to be seated and was then told the kitchen wasn’t accepting anymore orders Really disappointing and frustrating.

This is a great little hole-in-the-wall neighborhood restaurant. The food is unpretentious, but delicious. The decor is homey and casual. Service is friendly and efficient. We ordered red beans and rice, shrimp po'boy, fries with debris, stuffed artichoke, and combo fried green peppers and onions. I recommend all of these dishes.
