Seafood RestaurantCreole RestaurantAmerican Restaurant
Frankie and johnny’s restaurant was opened in 1942 by Johnny Morreale and his then brother in law Frank Gaudin. The restaurant thrived feeding hungry dock workers and merchant men who made a living working on th river. Besides the abunundant seafood prepared with care, the hallmark of this small eatery was Johnny’s warm personality and genuine love of the restaurant business. Today we continue Johnny’s mission by pursuing our one simple goal: to be the best neighborhood restaurant in New Orleans. Thank you for visiting Frankie & Johnny’s!

Nothing fancy about this place, and that's just fine with us because the food speaks loudly enough!!! I love old school restaurants with great homestyle food! The staff and service was fantastic as usual

This local neighborhood restaurant does not overpromise and delivers what the menu offer. I had the roast beef Poboy, which is warm and dripping and wonderfully housed in the Poboy bread and tasted just wonderful. There’s much more on the menu. It’s worth exploring certainly come here.

The stuffed artichoke was pretty bad. The fried chicken was okay. The drinks and service were great.

Live in the neighborhood - used to be my go to until I brought my out of town friends for crawfish and there was a dead roach in our basket of crawfish. When I said something, the server made me feel crazy with that’s normal and begrudgingly replaced the crawfish. Gross.

Recently I decided to visit my place of birth that I have been away from for a few years. There is no city that has the culinary diversity and taste like New Orleans. One of the restaurants on my list to dine on my short visit was Frankie and Johnny’s. A neighborhood delight both in the food selections and service. I limited my order to their In House made Onion Rings and a Shrimp Po-Boy. A heavenly delight that was slowly devoured. My friend and I were also given the time to meet and talk during the lunch without any push to leave. This is a neighborhood gem and there is a free parking lot next to the building. In addition street parking is never a problem.
