⭐ 1-Star Google Review
Location: Pizza Hut – 1877 W 21st Street North
Date of Visit: Thursday, July 18th, 2025
We placed our order through the Pizza Hut app at 6:51 PM, and it said it would be ready by 7:11 PM. We arrived at 7:20 PM, giving them almost 30 minutes—but the wings weren’t even cooked yet. There were no cars in the drive-thru, but also no one at the window for several minutes.
When a young man finally opened the window, my husband (understandably frustrated) said “Finally.” The associate got visibly irritated, asked for our name, then left and returned with a very smug tone, saying the wings weren’t ready and we had to pull forward and wait. Then he slammed the window shut—with no apology, no explanation, nothing.
We sat there confused. We had given them nearly 30 minutes from the time of ordering, and somehow our wings weren’t even cooked? And instead of a simple apology or explanation, we were met with what felt like punishment for daring to ask about our order.
Then a young woman named Desiree came to the window and did what no one else had: she explained they were very busy, apologized for the delay, and tried to make things right. Desiree was professional, respectful, and clearly trying to cover for a team that wasn’t supporting her.
I asked to speak to a manager. She went back in and returned saying that the managers—Hope, Jonnie, and Christi—wouldn't come to talk to us, because the store is very busy.
That was incredibly disappointing. We didn’t want a fight—we just wanted a little respect and basic communication.
Have to admit that Desiree got the managers approval to credit us back the price of the wings, but seems like we weren't much more than $8 important to them .
Finally, Wilder (the same young man from before) brought the food and handling it to Desiree couldn’t resist adding a sarcastic comment, something like “Since they’re so impatient…” It was rude, uncalled for, and unprofessional. His attitude throughout made an already poor experience worse.
This visit could’ve been saved with one simple apology or acknowledgment of the delay. Instead, we were met with rudeness and a total lack of accountability—except from Desiree, who deserves recognition for stepping up when her team, including management, didn’t.
If Pizza Hut corporate sees this, I hope they retrain Wilder and seriously consider promoting Desiree. She’s a 5-star employee working in a 1-star environment.
Also,If anyone at Pizza Hut would like to follow up, I would be happy to provide further details. I truly hope this leads to some improvements at this location.✨
