Unlike my previous visit on 11/2/24—where I was greeted warmly and offered help while shopping—this time I was not acknowledged or welcomed at all. I noticed that every white customer was greeted with a “Welcome in,” while people of color, including myself, were not treated the same. What made the experience more disheartening was when a staff member with glasses offered Lindt pistachio chocolates to other customers but completely skipped over me. She walked past without a word, and it felt uncomfortable and isolating. Whether intentional or not, the difference in treatment was noticeable and disappointing. I left the store without making a purchase, feeling unwelcome and unseen. Please train your workers to treat everybody the same.
