  We have dined at several Ocean Prime locations and I’m happy to report that the Chicago location was just as delicious. We dined for an early happy hour (4pm on a Monday) and were delighted with the specific happy hour menu. They had a large selection of some of our favorite dishes to choose from. For Happy hour, signature cocktails are also $5 off and they also offer select white and red wine for $8 per glass. I highly recommend the sushi - our favorite is the Ocean Prime roll. I also really enjoy the braised short rib as well. We walked right in without a reservation, but by the time we left it was quite busy.

  I've been to this location twice and it is exceptional. From the atmosphere to the service to the food, it is a great dining experience. The crab cake is amazing and the steaks are excellent. The goat cheese appetizer is SO GOOD. A person I dined with was still thinking about it the next day. I've been to a lot of steakhouses in Chicago, but only a few more than once and there is a reason for that - excellent atmosphere, service and food. I do expect to return in the future.

  Beautiful restaurant inside at a great location. Valet was very friendly though it was crowded coming in on arrival. Great wine selection and professional wait staff. Some parts were not as refined as other restaurants that I have been too for 5 star restaurant. Food quality was great but not the best for the price. But the restaurant interior is one of the best I ever saw. Perfect spot to impress a date. The high rating of this place is well deserved.

  Worst treatment and experience at a restaurant hands down. I made a reservation for my husband for his birthday at 9:30pm. We were running slightly behind and arrived at the exterior entrance at 9:37. When we arrived at the restaurant all the exterior door entrances were locked and we had to go through the hotel door where we found the interior entrance at 9:41. A staff member rudely opened the door and told us that the restaurant was closed. On OpenTable there is clearly a 15 min grace period stated for this restaurant but we were told the restaurant locks its doors the minute it hits 9:30 and the kitchen was closed. We were told had we showed up 15 min in advance we could have been seated and it was outlandish to show up 11 minutes late even though 4 of the minutes were spent even finding the entrance. This is of course in direct violation of the restaurant's own stated reservation grace period policy. This is also impossible that the kitchen should be closed directly at closing when the restaurant lists a reservation at closing time. We have never been treated so rudely by any establishment of this expected quality or any restaurant period. I am truly appalled that this restaurant allows their staff to break their own stated policies and talk down to customers. We will never return again. There are a huge number of amazing steak houses in the city. Highly recommend dining at an establishment with ethical policies and staff. 1 star is a star too many

  I love my experience at Ocean Prime! The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly. The interior is much larger than I anticipated. They offer complimentary truffle popcorn once seated. I started with the surf n’ turf and hamachi crudo. Both were stellar, but the crudo stood out for me as my favorite dish of the meal. 10/10. I also tried the Take Two, a strawberry cocktail, whic h was crisp and refreshing. After that I enjoyed the Sakura Wagyu cheeseburger and the tempura lobster sticks. Both were much heavier than the first round and I did not finish either, but still pretty good. Dessert was a decadent raspberry sorbet with an almond cookie. Divine. Overall the happy hour was filling and flavorful. I’ll be back. Mary and Mario were friendly and attentive to my allergies. Pay them more!
