The food was blah. It lacked flavor and where they tried to add “flavor,” it fell flat. I ordered tacos de birria with pico de gallo on the side and a side of elote. My husband ordered a burrito with birria and a side of chips and queso. The tacos were low on seasoning and didn’t even have a hint of spice (I thought this was a Mexican place? Not even a bottle of hot sauce in sight) and the pico de gallo lacked lime. The elote was even more disappointing… I don’t even know if you can call it an elote. It had shredded cheese, not even a hint of lime, very little queso fresco, no tajin, and some pineapple puree drizzled on top… I took two bites and said absolutely not (heart shattered because I LOVE elote). I took a bite of my husbands burrito which was okay… (he got to build it himself so that’s the only thing I can say was okay). He wasn’t too thrilled about it. The chips and queso are literally Tostitos with Tostitos jar queso. Overall we paid $70 for 4 items and 2 beers, which is the most gut wrenching thing of all. I would’ve been happier with Chipotle or Lime for that price. As MS locals, I’m sad to say we won’t be returning. Maybe if they completely changed their menu, I’d consider trying again, but right now it’s just not worth it.
