  Ate in the bar area at a high top table. Service was exceptional, our server was pleasant and attentive the entire time. We had three appetizers (crab cake, ahi tuna, and dynamite roll). They were all so good but the sushi roll was my favorite. We had both the warm butter cake and the carrot cake (heated per our servers suggestion). Hands down the best carrot cake I’ve had in my entire life. Save room, you won’t be disappointed. I’m not from the area, but if I’m back in Tampa in the future, I’d make sure to visit again. Ten out of ten experience all around. (Shout out to the Marriott Tampa Airport front desk staff who recommended it).

  Everything was exceptional from start to finish. The hostesses were very nice and showed us the heated outside space so that we could choose where to sit. They set up our table for a dual anniversary/birthday celebration which was a great touch. Our server Juan Carlos was amazing and gave great recommendations. If dining here definitely get the Chilean sea bass. Drinks were also well made with plenty of options.

  Last night was our third visit to Ocean prime. The last two times the experience has been exceptional, but last night fell well short of expectations. I was ordering steak and deciding between the New York Strip and the Ribeye, and normally the ribeye does not disappoint, because it’s a more flavorful steak in my opinion. However, last night, even though I ordered it medium rare, it was a little bit tough. Our experience dipped from there. We had been given a Visa gift card, which I’ve never had a problem using anywhere before, because they are sold at every retail store in the country. Last night our server said his manager told him the restaurant can’t take the Visa gift card, because it didn’t have a chip and therefore they couldn’t prove if it was fraudulent or not. That explanation made no sense to me. Bradley and his team did a great job on the service side, but the management and the kitchen did not hold up to their end of the bargain. Last night really disappointed me. I give the food and this overall experience two stars because my wife had the filet which she thoroughly enjoyed. I am not sure when we’ll be returning to Ocean prime.

  Ruined my night. Ordered wagyu steak, it was supposed to be A5 Japanese certified… Yaaah it’s certified garbage, and it was burned ! I paid $400, did not eat it and literally left hungry. Not once the server ask why I did not eat my steak 😅 To make things worse, as the assistant server boxed the food to go, the kitchen door was open, he helped himself to some of the wagyu steak he was boxing! Obviously I told them I’m not interested in taking the food to go, and still no questions on why! Called and spoke with the manager after I left, she offered $100 gift card 😂 Lady, I just paid top $$ for a wagyu steak which I did not eat I’m heading to another restaurant so I can eat real food and your solution is a gift card for next time … No thanks There will Not be next time BTW, the Au Gratin was horrible Steamed potatoes with tons of milted cheese, no flavor no sauce nothing!!!

  I experienced the highest level of hospitality and quality at OceanPrime last night. I had just landed from NYC and called ahead to make sure they had stone crab - a seasonal delicacy I had been looking forward to for months. Melanie, our server, initially informed me that they had run out, but upon seeing the disappointment (actually heartbreak) on my face, she took action. When I tell you I felt like a VIP after she came back and said she, and her manager, had secured the stone crab from another restaurant just for me ... I was quite blown away. This is what above and beyond looks like. Thank you to Melanie and the staff that made it happen. This was a memorable experience!
