  Service was decent. A couple items were missing, but we were a group of 12 so that’s somewhat understandable. The food quality was pretty strange for a big-chain Mexican restaurant. I’ve honestly never had rice and beans I didn’t enjoy at a Mexican spot — they’re basically the bread and butter of the cuisine — but these were surprisingly bland and oddly spiced. I ordered the mushroom taco and it was very underwhelming. I also tried the black beans, refried beans, and yellow rice, and unfortunately all of them lacked flavor. Out of curiosity I asked the rest of our table (12 people total) afterward if anyone really enjoyed their meal, and most people seemed a bit disappointed. They really need to reformulate the basics.

  We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Rocco’s! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of great energy. The food was outstanding—every dish was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and exceeded our expectations. Laura was our server, and she truly made the experience even better. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly kind, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Rocco’s to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!

  I’ve always struggled to find a great vegetarian taco. This place only had mushrooms which I can’t eat but let me substitute them for vegetables and refried beans. Both their beans, black beans and refried, are vegetarian!! Which is a unicorn on its own. It’s so hard to find vegetarian refried beans but this place had them and they were the star of the taco. The veggies were the only letdown: they were fresh but seemed steamed and very bland. But there was a ton of flavor in the refried beans and pickled onions so I didn’t mind it. I got them on the hard shell and I like a soggy taco so it was great but if you don’t, either don’t get the hard shell or don’t get the refried beans. But, really, get the refried beans. This wouldn’t have been possible without our server, Theresa who was so helpful and made the best tableside guacamole we’ve had in some time!

  I went with my family to Rocco’s Tacos for the first time before the Sarasota Circus. The hostess stand help could use some polish but once we were seated and Josh came over all was well with the world. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and patient. He did a great job with our table side guac and all the recommendations were spot on. There was some construction noise near the patio and the manager took care of that graciously. It was an all around enjoyable evening and I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Josh!

  Amazing food, drinks, and even better service. Josh was extremely attentive and kept our margaritas full — and I don’t mean “eventually refilled them.” I mean the man was operating on a sixth sense. If my glass hit the halfway mark, he appeared like a margarita guardian angel. From the moment we sat down, Josh was warm, welcoming, and genuinely engaging. He didn’t just take our order — he guided us through it. He was super informative about the menu, offered great recommendations, and explained everything in a way that made us want to order one of everything. (Zero regrets.) We had our baby with us, and Josh absolutely won her over. He cracked little jokes, made funny faces, and treated her like a VIP guest. It’s not easy balancing great service for adults while also being playful and kind to a baby, but Josh nailed it. Honestly, I think she may have liked him more than us by the end of the meal. What really stood out was how he anticipated our needs before we even asked. Extra napkins? Already there. Another round? On the way. Questions about the menu? Answered before we finished asking. He was attentive without hovering — the perfect balance. The food was fantastic, the margaritas were flowing, and the vibe was great — but Josh truly made the experience memorable. If he’s competing with his teammates for most reviews, this is me doing my civic duty. Give the man the trophy. We’ll definitely be back — and we’re asking for Josh.
