    Not going to lie, food was amazing! Service on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. The robot was way better than the servers, I ordered a regular cup of coffee and it took 15 minutes and 2 servers to finally get it. I guess they are not programmed like the robots that bring everything. Also, I ordered pancakes with chocolate chips, didn't get them, when I asked they said I ordered and paid $2.50 for chocolate chips, but ordered rye toast. Needless to say I didn't get the chocolate chips or the credt for them. The wait was horrible, they left 2 open 5 top tables yet had a line out the door and wouldn't seat them until we said something because no one was a party of 5, instead of seating them and turning tables over. If they can figure out the service, (which all they do is really seat tables and clean them off) then it would be great! Oh, also don't love that I have to tip when I order and pay on the iPad before I even have any kind of service. I definitely wouldn't have left the tip I did had I been able to pay at the end of the meal....

    Expected this place to have at-least a little southern hospitality given the name but we weren’t acknowledged for about 15 minutes of standing at the host stand. A little “Hey we’ll be right with you” goes a long way. Then I noticed the robot waitresses and it all made sense. When you take away someones purpose at a job, you take the soul that goes into eating out. The small talk, the explanation of how the restaurant works. We ordered BOGO french toast, only got one plate and when we asked why we only got one plate we were told the bogo was buy 2 drinks then order 2 meals and they have to put in the discount for us. That would have been really nice to know prior to ordering. Food was great, but the customer service was severely lacking.

    I really wanted to like Buttermilk Eatery, but my experience was pretty disappointing. When I arrived, I expected a wait since it was a late Sunday morning—that’s totally normal. What isn’t normal is the hostess handing me a number without telling me the estimated wait time and sending me off with zero information. Even worse, after about 40 minutes, I came back inside only to find our number crossed off the list. The hostess even said we were next at one point, yet somehow our number was marked as already seated. She admitted she didn’t know how it happened, but there was no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing to make it right. The only reason we got seated next was because I stayed standing there watching the list. On top of that, having to pay before your food even arrives is wild, especially given the prices. The food itself was decent, but definitely not worth the cost or the frustration of dealing with such careless management. Overall, the experience left a bad taste—unorganized, unapologetic service and policies that make no sense. I won’t be returning

    The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly and polite. It was easy to order food with the tablet at the table. And the food was the winner of the visit. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon and sausage were fresh, the pancakes were so fluffy and delicious and required extra syrup to round out the thickness of the cakes. Worth every penny. My only negative about the place would be the atmosphere. That was partly due to the lack of customers which isn’t their fault. But the lack of interaction from the wait staff due to automation took something away from the experience. They have robot waiters for carrying bigger orders. Sometimes technology takes the human element out of the equation. Any time I needed something the waitresses were very quick to accommodate my request. Based on this experience I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

    I went in specifically for the pumpkin pancakes and they never disappoint! Brandi was incredibly attentive and made sure that everyone was being seated as quickly as possible. She was calm, cool and very kind in spite of it being a very busy Sunday morning. We had just one special request and she came over and handled it with care. You may think that with food ordered from a screen at your table and then delivered by a robot that it is easy to be overlooked- but this has never been my experience. It is actually the opposite as the servers seem much more relaxed and able to attend to everyone in a timely manner. Buttermilk is definitely a treat!
