Lindt is always my go-to chocolate brand, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Most recently, I bought some items, including 7 Lindt Excellence Bars. After leaving the store to sit on a bench nearby and enjoy my ice cream, I noticed my receipt showed 8 chocolate bars instead of 7—I'd been overcharged for an extra bar. I went back to explain the mistake to the cashier who'd helped me. She'd been really sweet and friendly during checkout, but as soon as I pointed out the error, her whole demeanour changed. She became rude and kept insisting there was no mistake. A second cashier (a male employee) also got involved and was equally unfriendly—almost hostile, actually—like I was bothering them by bringing up their error. Thankfully, a third cashier stepped in and was able to see the mistake. They agreed to refund me, but then the refund amount was less than what I'd been overcharged, which made no sense. When I tried to explain this, they seemed annoyed with me. It took several attempts for them to get the refund right, which wasted quite a bit of my time. Throughout the entire process, not once did anyone apologise or thank me for being patient. Their attitude made it clear they thought I was the problem for pointing out their mistake. I really love Lindt products, but this experience has left a bad taste. I hope the management team sees this and can better train the staff to improve customer experience. Product quality matters, but customer service equally does.
