  Every New Years Day we like to do something local, so we went to "Wynwood" and walked the area. I know this is a younger trendy area that has been regentrified for over 20 years. I have been in the area a few times before but it's really not my scene. The weather was spectacular, so we walked around looking at the graffiti and trendy shops, many which were closed or vacant (out of business). We decided to get a cafe and some pastries. A quick Google search and Maman French Bakery popped up. We walked about 5 min and found the place. It's modern and a little overwhelming. Stuff (trees, bushes and vines) hanging from the ceiling is very distracting. Also, there is no one to greet you or direction as to how to order at the counter or sit down and order? I get it, supposed to be like a French cafe, but you have to "cut the line" so you can grab a menu from the counter by the cash register when in reality menus should be immediately available when you enter. I have been to France many of times and driven throughout the country (e.g., Paris, Normandy, etc.). I did not see the baguettes, breads or cheese that I am used to at other French bakeries or the "laissez faire" attitude of just relax and enjoy your cafe. I will say that the hot chocolate, double espresso, cafe late and pastries (i.e., croissants, almond croissant and everything croissants) were excellent! It is just a little overpriced, but I get it you're in Wynwood. LOL Doing some research, I noticed there is a location closer to home (S. Miami), so I might try that place out in the future. Interesting, Maman touts itself as a "Lifestyle brand"... I am not really sure what that means? This place is cool for the tourist or trendy want-to-be person but has NO French cafe appeal and it's definitely NOT and Mom & Pop business, but a chain majority owned by TriSpan equity firm. Unfortunately, it's on the expensive side when there are several other options in this "French cafe" category.

  Very poor customer service. The guy working at the register today between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM had a bad attitude and clearly didn’t want to help. I greeted him and he didn’t even respond. He gave no proper explanation about the food and seemed annoyed the entire time. The same thing happened when I was leaving—no courtesy at all. It definitely makes you not want to come back.

  Un hermoso lugar para desayunar en pleno corazón de Wynwood. Sus cafés y comida tienen además de buen sabor hermosas presentaciones. Recomiendo probar el café con sesamo (no recuerdo su nombre pero si su sabor). Sin duda regresaré para probar más de sus combinaciones.

  This holidays I came to Miami and my cousin recommended me this coffee shop to get some pastries and breakfast. I got such a good latte and a croissant while I worked a bit in the morning. It was absolutely great and pleasant. I recommend going before 12 or after 1pm as it gets quite busy and loud during lunch time.

  The food was meh and the portions for the price were very disappointing. For $16 I would expect have at least expected two eggs in the papa bowl. The bowl tasted a bit greasy. I was trying to avoid Starbucks and go local but ended having to buy Starbucks anyway. The quiche was the best thing we brought. I should have just bought four and called it a day.
