Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers reported inconsistent food quality, with some meals being fresh and hot while others were cold or poorly prepared.

Cleanliness
The restaurant was noted for being clean and well-maintained, although some customers experienced issues with locked bathrooms.
Order Accuracy
There were multiple complaints about incorrect orders and missing items, leading to customer frustration.
Speed of Service
Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with slow service, particularly in the drive-thru, leading to long wait times.

I visited the Whataburger at 8840 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216 on October 29, 2025, at 10:27 AM (Order #535020) with my associate to get breakfast, and it was one of the most unsettling experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
When we asked the cashier, Samone T., what types of breakfast burritos were available, we were met with a sharp and unprofessional “What?” which immediately set an uncomfortable tone. When we repeated our question, she replied, “Potato, bacon, and sausage.” My associate ordered sausage, and I ordered bacon.
At the drive-thru window, there was no greeting or courtesy the cashier simply opened the window, held out the tap-to-pay device, and didn’t provide a receipt. The entire exchange felt intentionally cold and dismissive.
A few minutes later, a manager came to the window. The difference in tone was immediate she was polite and professional, and the atmosphere shifted noticeably. The receipt listed Ayana Skipper as the operating partner, though I cannot confirm if she was the manager who assisted us.
The manager handed us our food, and when we requested extra sauces, she instructed Samone T. to provide them. At that moment, Samone T. gave us the sauces with a smug grin that felt deliberately disrespectful.
After parking to inspect our food, I discovered a strand of hair intentionally placed inside my breakfast burrito. Having previously worked for Whataburger, I know this type of contamination is extremely unlikely to occur by accident, especially at the drive-thru stage where employees do not handle food directly.
Beyond the violation of professionalism, this also presents a serious public health and biohazard concern. There is no way to know what diseases or biological contaminants another person may carry, and being exposed to someone else’s hair or bodily material is both unsanitary and unsafe. Customers should never have to worry about coming into contact with another person’s biology in their food.
I have photos and retained the hair sample as evidence for DNA testing and potential litigation. I urge Whataburger corporate to review the video footage from that date and time and address this serious breach of food safety and professionalism immediately.

This is our 2nd visit at this location in a week. We are vegetarian and Samone accommodated our request to cook the eggs and tortillas separately from the meat section of the grill. The potato taquitos she prepared were absolutely amazing!! The staff at this location are all very friendly and make us feel like valued customers. We will definitely be back as many times as we can for breakfast. I also tried the egg and cheese biscuit and hash browns and they were very good.
P.S. I would like to make a suggestion that Whataburger add veggie meat options to their menu like Beyond or Impossible brand sausage and burgers.

Ariana at the register and Simone working on the grill made the best taquiito's I think I've ever had. I asked if they could heat the tortilla on a cleaner part off the grill to not absorb the gease from the bacon or sausage. There was not a hint of It in any of them. If your vegetarian or don't eat pork just ask.
10/27/25 Came back today and it's even more awesome! They remembered our names and they way we liked it made from last week. This is our favorite Whataburger!
(I would've added photos but they were so good we ate then all)
