  The food was delicious, no complaints there. The bar service mediocre the atmosphere at times a general hum and at times boisterously loud. The bartender was busy chatting up her customer friends and ignoring the others. Service not what was expected for a $400 dinner but to be fair, the good was excellent. Won't be back, there are too many other choices where all customers are appreciated.

  Group of 5 celebrating professional achievement. Service by Mila was awesome; caring, professional and sweet. Had a Seafood Tower of; Oysters (delicious Rose @ Garnet), Shrimps, Crab Legs, and Lobster. Then we had spectacular Raviolis, Sea Bass, and Filet Mignon. However the Strip Steak was bad; dry, tasteless, seemed old. Took a few bites and has gastric consequences that night. They did not charged for it though. Nicely prepared Martinis and two nice bottles of Pouilly-Fuissé. Plus we appreciate very much the details for my friend’s celebration. Even the GM came by. Thanks to a great team.

  Sam was AMAZING! He treated our entire family with so much kindness and genuine warmth from the moment we walked in. He shared great samples, knew exactly how to guide us, and his service made the experience unforgettable. We ended up buying even more because he truly took care of us. We will absolutely make the drive from NC again and when we do we will be requesting Sam. Exceptional customer service, a great personality, and a wonderful experience from start to finish. Thank you so much, Sam!

  I’ve traveled all over the world and experienced fine dining in many places, but Sam at Ocean Prime truly stands out as top tier. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine personality made the entire evening exceptional. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect from recommendations to timing and energy. Sam isn’t just a great waiter he’s the kind of person who elevates the entire dining experience. Ocean Prime is lucky to have him.

  Great food, horrible service. Had early (5:00) reservation because we had tickets to a nearby show. Told our waiter we needed to be out the door by 6:30 which he acknowledged and said no issues. Place was mostly empty at that time so we assumed there would not be delays. We ordered a bottle of dry rose wine to start, and waiter shows up with a bottle of rose champagne. First fail. Waiter returns with rose wine and we give our orders. Runners come with our appetizers and forget one of the salads. Second fail. Try to find our waiter, no joy. Flag down not one but TWO different busboys and ask for our waiter. Both of whom disappear never to be seen again and waiter is still MIA. Third fail. Waiter shows up, apologizes and eventually brings missing salad just as rest of us are finishing our salads. Fourth fail. 20 minutes later runners show up with entrees. Same guest who got late salad receives wrong entree. Fifth fail (and hand slap to forehead by now). Waiter strolls by to check on us, we note the wrong entree and he hustles it back to kitchen and returns with the correct entree (salmon) which is undercooked and almost raw in the center. Sixth fail. By now it is about 6:15 and we are concerned because desserts have not arrived. Flag down waiter and ask about desserts, he offers to put them in "to-go" containers which of course makes no sense since we are walking to the show as we told him before dinner. Seventh fail. Finally get the bill, pay and depart at 6:35. Food (other than the late undercooked entree) was surprisingly good, so I give good marks there. Decor and ambiance was as expected for a nice DC restaurant, but I would not call it extraordinary, just very nice. Someone who appeared to be a manager (but did not identify herself in any way shape or form) came by before we departed and I mentioned the poor service, especially the busboys who literally vanished instead of finding our waiter. Received a shrug. Which pretty much sums up what I would do if anyone asks me what I think of Ocean Prime. A big shrug.
