  Visiting D.C. for a conference and this place is true to it's reviews. Quick and kind service, good food, nice setup/seating for an early Sunday morning. I'm a black coffee drinker and this drip blend was bright & medium-bodied as expected. Papa's breakfast bowl (homefries with candied bacon covered in good stuff) is filling and popular for a reason; I actually couldn't finish the portion. After tip I paid about $25 but that's also expected for east coast prices right now. Will keep it on my list for future visits.

  I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Maman. The decor and ambiance is beautiful, invigorating, and some how makes you feel like an ordinary breakfast run is whimsical and fancy. The food is DELICIOUS! I had an omelet that made my taste buds dance! No exaggeration! Yes, Maman is a splurge for work breakfast, but it's worth every dime!

  Atmosphere is what brought us here and the presentation is superb. The food, vibe and decor looked amazing. As for the taste, the cranberry rolled croissant was so hard, full of the jam it seemed Starbucks quality. We ordered two sandwiches which were identical other than the meat filling. One was warm and the other cold. I asked why it was cold and was told the vegetables made the meat cold. Explained that the chicken sandwich was warm with identical vegetables and was offered to have it heated up. Honestly tasted like Starbucks sandwiches. The atmosphere made up for the food taste, although it looked amazing.

  I enjoyed this cafe because they have great matcha beverages, overnight oats, and vegan croissants, cakes, and cookies. The pastries are reasonably priced, but the overnight oats are expensive ($10). The cashiers and baristas are usually very friendly, though my last experience here was unpleasant. The cashier refused to take my $20 bill, which had a tear in it, and the overnight oats had liquid in the bottom of the cup, which made me question its freshness. They should label these items with the date it was made. Also, I've noticed flies flying around the pastries sometimes. I've purchased a bottle of water here that had a hair on the bottle. I didn't notice the hair until I left the cafe.

  Due to word of mouth, my gf and I decided to check this restaurant out. Over all the quality of food was top notch, and the pastries were well done. My only complaints were minor: that their take on their ratatouille (which is only served on weekends) was too different from my personal idea/preference of the traditional dish. That, and that the drinks felt very *regular*, which admittedly was a bit of a let down considering Mamans is a café. That said, it was all still solid. On another side note, expect it to be a bit crowded considering how popular the place is. I'm sure that will calm down in the future. But even with the crowd, Stanley, our server, did a fantastic job of making sure we had everything we needed. Really appreciated his attentiveness and he definitely rounded out the over all experience. Would recommend checking the place out for yourself 😌
