  My boyfriend and I went to Ocean Prime for his birthday dinner with no reservation and happily got seats at the bar. Derin and Tj were our bartenders, they were attentive, kind, funny and made this birthday feel so special. The drinks were amazing (specifically the pineapple picante). Derin had great food recommendations and let us know we could 1/2 orders of sides. Amazing idea! A great dinner out and worth every penny! Thanks so much Derin and Tj!!!

  I had family visiting from overseas for the Christmas holidays and we popped into Ocean Prime Downtown Denver after a Sunday matinee ballet show. We arrived right at 4pm when the restaurant was opening, but before the dinner crowd so it was lovely and quiet. Friendly, attentive service from all staff, including Jimmy the host, and Elliott our server. Our favorite dishes were the scallops and short ribs hot appetizer and the blackened snapper, which were to die for. Stuffed and happy, we barely had room to share the warm butter cake with vanilla ice cream and berries, which I am still dreaming about a week later. Slightly bummed that we had to pay for the bread basket (hence 4 stars instead of five), but hey ho, that seems to be the way of the restaurant world today. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Ocean Prime if you like good food, and the cost is not excessive for a seafood restaurant in land-locked Colorado.

  Loved everything about it! We went for our 10-year anniversary on New Year's Eve, and they were able to find us a cozy booth in the lounge and made it special. They even put rose petals on our table!! The young lady that served us was on point and very sweet. We had the ribeye, filet mignon, and the jalapeno potato au gratin for our side and it all was amazing!! Well worth the money to have such a good time and great food. A wonderful dinner to be remembered!

  I didn't really have a good experience. The food tasted great and the bartender was super friendly and helpful. I came in and sat at the bar by myself. The bartender took my order. I got the hamchi crudo as an appetizer and scallops for my entree. I sat there for over an hour waiting for the food. I don't know what happened in the kitchen. The bartender caught on because more than half the bar had left before I even got the appetizer. Even couples that had came in after me had already paid before I got any food. He did apologize, and he did take off the appetizer but it was just frustrating. It seemed like I was the only that had that issue and I'm guessing my ticket just got lost. I would come back though. The food was really good. Hopefully my experience next time is different.

  I hate to mention another restaurant in my review of a different one, but I have to. On Christmas Eve we went to dinner as a family to STK steakhouse. It’s basically directly across the street from Ocean Prime. Now I will preface this by saying, Ocean Prime is my favorite restaurant. It’s my wife’s favorite restaurant. We have been to six different OP’s around the country. And we’re about to hit our seventh when we go to Nashville in a couple of days. With all that said, tonight‘s meal was once again perfection. Steaks were done perfectly, the goat cheese ravioli appetizer was amazing. And the coffee, which I am going to attach a picture of came in the right size cup. Each of these are cappuccinos, but STK decided to serve theirs in something a little sturdier than the little plastic cup that comes with your daughter’s tea set for her imaginary friends. If you are in Denver, and there’s an opening at Ocean Prime, do not even walk across the street to the other. I promise you it’s money down the drain. Everything here is always perfect. Anyway, well done OP! Keep up the great work. And I also have to do a special shout out to our server Elliott. He was personable and attentive the entire time we were here. He did an excellent job.
