Anastasia (hostess) went out of her way to accommodate me on a fully packed evening.
I sat solo on the side bench for close to 30 minutes hoping to score an open bar seat (completely understanding that I will likely end up not getting a seat). She took it upon herself to find me a table despite the crowd.
She made me feel welcome and even relayed my information to the server who in turn was very welcoming and provided a flawless experience.
This level of commitment to service is so rare, refreshing, and appreciated.
I have never been compelled to write a Google review until now.

Yes! Culinary opulence in a beautiful and peaceful setting in Old Town Scottsdale. Highly recommended! Great date night with soul satisfying food and stellar service.
Pro tips:
1. We loved happy hour, ordering the omakase for two, plus a la carte options. Wagyu on a hot stone, chawanmushi with crab (my favorite), karaage chicken, etc.
2. Get hot sake and cold beer. Some white rice for carbs to soak up the libations doesn't hurt if you're big and/or tall like me.
3. Sit at the sushi counter and engage with the talented chefs.
4. Listen to the talented chefs. (Chef Zach)
5. Tip well and be well. This is a "home" (Uchi) of love, joy and appreciation for fresh ingredients and masterful presentation. Enjoy! 👏🏼🙏🏼🍻🍶🍣
Favorites? Everything... Raw fish, marinated fish, fried fish, shellfish, chicken, beef, pork belly, rice, dessert... 😋

This was our first time at Uchi and wow, what a unique and amazing restaurant. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Our server, Justin, was so nice and offered great recommendations. Each dish that came out was more delicious than the last. We really enjoyed our meal and we can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend Uchi if you’re looking for something special.

I’m really disappointed because our first visit to Uchi when it first opened completely blew us away, but our last two visits have been terrible.
We loved Uchi’s food, but our second visit was on our four-year anniversary, and we were treated so poorly that we ended our dinner early and went to Nobu instead. We spoke with a manager who apologized, comped our meal, and told us to reach out if we ever wanted to give Uchi another try, promising she would take care of us. When we later reached out, we found out she no longer worked there, so we decided to wait before returning.
A few weeks ago, we finally decided to give it another chance, and once again, we were disappointed. Two tables that were seated after us received their food first, even though we had ordered before them. We waited about 20 to 30 minutes without food before telling our server, who brought out our dishes roughly five to ten minutes later. If the order had been delayed or forgotten, better communication would have made all the difference.
Overall, it’s disheartening to see how much the experience has declined. Uchi used to feel special, but after two disappointing visits in a row, it no longer lives up to the reputation it once had.

This was our second time visiting Uchi Scottsdale, and while the food does take quite a while to come out, the service truly made up for it. We ran into a few issues during our lunch visit, but Tyler, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure we left happy and satisfied. Both our server and Tyler worked together to turn things around, and that kind of care is rare to see in restaurants nowadays. The hospitality here is excellent!
I especially enjoy the Hama Chili and the seasonal orange sherbet with yuzu honey — both are amazing. The wagyu, however, could use a little improvement and add a little ponzu sauce to the poke style lunch bowl. Overall, a great experience thanks to the team’s kindness and attention!
