After an informative, multisensory, and emotional experience at The Legacy Museum, I walked about a block to Dreamland BBQ. I'd heard about the hickory-grilled ribs that made this place a local staple, so I got the rib plate with fried okra and slaw. A 10/10 meal, seriously. I'm used to Texas-style spareribs, which have a pleasing glaze and finish. These ribs aren't that. The emphasis here is on maximum. They were smoky, super juicy, and seasoned (with salt) perfectly. They were cooked properly, too, meaning there was some tear between the meat and bone. The staff was equally lovely. After lunch, I ordered an IPA, which they brew in house. For those who use Untappd, it is a Verified Venue.

I came to Dreamland expecting a culinary fantasy, but I think someone forgot to hit the REM cycle. The only thing 'dreamy' about this experience was how long I had to wait for a server—I actually had time to take a quick nap at the table. When the food finally arrived, it tasted like it had given up on life about three days ago. I love a good historic downtown vibe, but the ribs belonged in a museum, not on a plate. If you're looking for slow-cooked BBQ, they definitely nailed the 'slow' part of the service.

Great bbq. Loved the ribs, not fall off the bone but good and tender. Banana pudding was 75% nilla wafer, which was great for my wife. The best thing was the quesadilla appetizer! Skip the Mac and cheese. That was disappointing, soggy noodles and cheese like sauce.

I visited here in 2020 and to this day - I still think about the banana pudding and how great it was every time I have a lousy banana pudding somewhere else. Cherish it, Montgomery.

Unfortunately I had the disprivilege of being catered by them on a field trip I was on food was terrible tenders were uncooked some even had mold on them! The beans were disgusting and hard to swallow. Would not recommend DO NOT eat here if you’re visiting Montgomery.
