I recently started another business (Big Potential) and went to WF to open a new business account. I had all of the normal documentation in hand but WF didn't think that was good enough. They wanted a certified physical copy of the WA State registration statement instead of relying on what other banks do which is check the WA State web site. As hard as it is to start up and run a successful business, the last thing any of us need is for our own bank to place unnecessary roadblocks in our way. I immediately went down the street to Chase Bank where they were eager to welcome me as a new business account. Chase checks the WA website and didn't' need any certified copy. SOLVED - Someone with Corporate contacted me, investigated and found that the the branch personnel had not been fully trained up on this aspect. His next activity was educate the branch people and I assume that has been done.
