- EVEric VicianOct 22, 20241.0Took approximately 443 days to access and close my deceased father's account to gain the funds to help pay for his surviving wife's medical bills! She has dementia and that's very expensive. This ridiculous Key Bank process included two trips from me in person (from my Florida residence to the island, one per calendar year) and Key Bank making me hire an attorney three times and spend 25% of the account's value to access it, despite me having every Power of Attorney paper they needed. The absolute most unprofessional experience of my life. No other bank or company made me jump through these hoops after losing my dad, a 30-year Air Force Veteran. Do yourself a favor and choose ANY other bank. Absolutely unacceptable.
