My banker, Sung Eun Kim, was by far the kindest and most helpful banker I’ve met in my 17 years since moving to the U.S. I had seen Bank of Hope branches in LA before but didn’t realize they had a presence in Washington. It turns out there are four branches here, with Bellevue being the newest—it opened just 1.5 years ago. Sung Eun made the entire process of opening a checking account seamless. She explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and prioritized efficiency to respect my time. I was pleasantly surprised to receive my personalized debit card on the same day, and she even recommended activating it through the app for a faster and easier process. What truly stood out was her thoughtful follow-up email later in the day, reminding me of important details like enrolling in eStatement to avoid the $3 paper statement fee. That level of dedication is rare! On top of the outstanding service, I even received several freebies for opening the account—a thoughtful touch that most banks don’t offer. Honestly, if every banker were like Sung Eun, the banking world would be a much better place. Thank you, Sung Eun, for your exceptional service! A few helpful things to know are that you need a minimum of $25 in cash for the initial deposit when opening a checking account. I do not to have to wait to get helped. There are many people in the branch who can help me. Many people are friendly and courteous.
