Cleveland-based KeyCorp is one of the nation’s largest bank-based financial services companies, with assets of approximately $93.8 billion. Key companies provide investment management, retail and commercial banking, consumer finance, and investment banking products and services to individuals and companies throughout the United States and, for certain businesses, internationally. The company’s businesses deliver their products and services through branches and offices; a network of 1,200+ ATMs; telephone banking centers 800-KEY2YOU®; and a website, Key.com®, and mobile app that provides account access and financial products 24 hours a day.
Everyone should remember the days when your banking relationship mattered (big or small) and, when you went in the branch they knew you by name. TD in years past began calling it's branches stores and it is fitting because all they cared about was getting or meeting a sales goal. Well, Key Bank over the last number of years has migrated to this. The Barre branch in particular is unrecognizable. It is as sterile as an operating room, they don't care who you are, anything about you, building a relationship or making an existing go deeper for the benefit of both parties. Just putting numbers in a bucket so they can be the best branch, meet a sales goal, and get a corporate "cookie". Frankly the customer does the giving and the bank literally gives nothing in return. If you hold any sizable deposits you will know what I mean
I have (had) a decent relationship but when I asked to have the try to match a CD rate from a local bank they would not even call me back when they said they would after 1-2 days. In fact I never even got a courtesy call back either way which is insulting. Sadly when you judge a book by its cover and toss existing and established customers away like rolled newspapers word gets around in a small town.
Key Bank: You can preach Diversity, Inclusion, etc but that hardly seems like it's working as you have gone through numerous "Managers", staff over the last couple years. Customers like stability and Key Bank just does not have it anymore no matter how pretty and professional your LinkedIn or Corp photos are. There is something seriously wrong with the Corporate structure, mentality at Key Bank when customers become disposable.
Folks(Barre residents and new to the area):
For the record there are better alternatives so check them out. Banks that actually want your relationship, care about you and, what you bring to the table. See below.. And, if there is anks about switching it is easy😁
Community National Bank- Much better CD and savings rates
Community Bank-much better CD and savings rates
Union Bank-same as above
FYI...This branch will be closing its door permanently on September 19th,2This is happening with key across the board lending validity that it is a bank in trouble and desperately trying to restructure.
FYI.. Key Bank. OCC requires 90 notice to customers including mailed notice(not just nailed to your door)
Got nothing yet!!
