Came to open an account for my 17 year old son. I noticed his name was spelled wrong even though they had his ID and all information needed, I asked the lady to please make the correction and we still received his card with his name wrong!! After 10 days waiting no one wants to help over the phone and want to charge me $30 to expedite the correct card

I visited this Truist branch intending to deposit money into my business account. Before doing so, I urgently needed to use the restroom. The tellers were busy, so I walked toward the pods and politely asked this African American lady if there was a restroom available.
Instead of simply answering, she asked, “Who are you?” in a way that made me feel uncomfortable and judged, as though I had bad intentions. I explained that I am a business account holder and just needed to use the restroom before making my deposit. She then denied asking “who are you” and told me there was no public restroom.
I ended up depositing my money at the ATM outside and leaving.
This experience was disappointing. I felt judged based on appearance rather than helped as a customer. I hope Truist provides additional training to ensure employees treat everyone with professionalism and respect. No one should feel uncomfortable or stereotyped when visiting their own bank.

Went in to inquire about setting up a biz account per the Earn $400 with Truist Simple Business or Dynamic Business Checking—new business checking clients only, terms apply. However, when you attempt to open an account online you receive an error with an application id. You can make an appt to go into a branch to complete your application. Only, i made a next day appointment and went into speak to a truist financial rep, Trudy. I sent her all my biz documents shich she printed. She couldn’t locate my application. She said you cant set this up in the branch. It was mess! I just told her ill take my check to my credit union. There is no way there should be this much red tape. So, no i will not be banking with Truist. It was a less than ideal experience. It was not worth the time put into setting up an account with this financial institution.

I am writing to express my serious concern regarding the service I received from Sabah Elkhatib, Senior Relationship Banker at the Truist Woodbridge, VA (13920 Noblewood Plaza) branch.
Several weeks ago, I submitted all the required documents to reactivate our home equity loan—this included W-2s, paystubs, and payment confirmations. After doing my part, I waited nearly three weeks without any updates.
When I visited the branch in person due to the lack of communication, Ms. Elkhatib had been on vacation and just got back. Unfortunately, she had not arranged for any of her colleagues to follow up on my time-sensitive request during her absence.
Instead of apologizing or immediately moving things forward, she began the process from the beginning again, despite the fact that I was just two days away from closing the sale of our house, and urgently needed the funds. I made it clear that the loan would be paid off in two days regardless, but I was in urgent need of funds to avoid jeopardizing the sale.
Her response—“If you’re selling the house, then why do you need this?”—was not only dismissive but completely inappropriate given the urgency of the situation. This lack of understanding and support could have resulted in me losing the contract and costing the bank repayment, had I not found an alternative solution at the last minute.
Thankfully, I managed to close on the home and Truist can verify in their system that the loan has been paid off. However, the experience was incredibly stressful and unprofessional, especially considering I was a current borrower relying on Truist’s support.
I urge Truist management to take this feedback seriously and ensure better training, accountability, and coverage during employee absences. No client should be left in such a vulnerable position due to lack of follow-through or empathy from their assigned banker.
