This is a mediocre bank that has yet to comfortably migrate into the 21st century made ALMOST bearable only by the polite and friendly staff. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed... Except, I AM mad. I've been with this bank for over 10 years now and I'm only so frustrated because I'm starting to realize that I've done nothing but make excuses for it my entire adult life. For the past several months, I have been unable to log in to my online banking without calling them first, because every time I attempt to log in the website claims my password doesn't work. I'm not a 100 year old person with Alzheimer's. I virtually never struggle to remember my password. After having them reset it over the phone for the 10th time (because they don't have a reset function on the site!) I made sure to write it down as clearly as I possibly could, and made sure to type it in 100% perfectly on the next attempt, and still failed. I suppose you could argue that my account is secure if not even the owner can get into it, right?! Regardless, I told myself that they'd sort it out eventually and I can just let it be for the time being (still hasn't been fixed as of this "review"). Very recently, my account was overdrawn from an auto-pay from a streaming service that I use. Without a doubt, this was my fault. No bank can keep me from poorly managing my finances. HOWEVER, in what f***ing world does a company, a bank even, that both has my email and has an app on my phone with notifications enabled, not even so much as send me a notification or an email when my account gets overdrawn? Had this shoddy bank sent me a simple mobile notification or an email, I would have been able to stop by the location in town and make a deposit before close of business that day to balance it out. Instead, they charge me a $35 overdraft fee and I get a notice in the mail DAYS later. The bank being located within my small town is one of its ONLY true benefits! But what the f*** is the point of it being accessible if I don't even know I need to stop there?! I am expected to keep better track of my finances, sure, but am I expected to call them on a daily basis to get into my account and check the balance?! Or would you argue that I should simply manually balance the account like a checkbook? As if that wouldn't completely defeat the point of online banking in the first place! I can't bring myself to give this place only one star, because the teller staff are incredible. It feels like I'm family every time I walk in there. They earn back a star for this. But I promise that I will be switching banks in the very near future. I advise that anyone with an interest in banking ahead of the 20th century look elsewhere. No matter how convenient it appears, it just isn't worth it. EDIT: Since the bank keeps calling me thinking they can change my "opinion" I'm happy to share a few extra troubles that I've had with this bank (I'll keep it shorter than the original review). My account was originally made with my mother on it when I was younger. I've called this bank three separate times and asked them to make it so that my mom cannot see all of my personal account transactions/info when she logs in online. Despite happily telling me that the issue had been fixed each of the three times I had them on the phone, my parents can both still snoop through all of my information to this day. Additionally, it took two attempts for them to get my address change correct. I was receiving all of my statements to my new address so I assumed everything was working properly, only to find out 2 years later that they were still sending important notices (like the overdraft notice!) for my account to my old address the entire time. If my old address wasn't my parents' house, they could have been sending very personal mail to complete strangers. If this bank doesn't stop attempting to contact me in attempt to get this review changed, I will be lowering it to one star.
