This is where I do my business banking and each month I do well in excess of 150k in deposits/withdraws. I've had a fantastic experience with the tellers but Kristen Dienst (who I guess is the manager?) has me considering going through the hassle of changing banks. It just feels like she's super condescending and almost like she's giving me a hard time on purpose. For example, the tellers at this branch used to allow me to make wire transfers over the phone which comes in super handy when I'm out of town. They'd just have me do a docusign. Kristen put a stop to that and said I'm supposed to be coming in person for wire transfers and they would no longer do them over the phone. A quick Google search tells you that AUB does wire transfers over the phone. A couple of weeks ago, I made a check deposit where a hold was prompted. The hold was overridden by the teller and the funds were made immediately available. I then filled out paperwork for a wire transfer (about 1/5 of the size of the deposit) with the teller and signed. I absolutely needed this wire to go out same day. If I had been told by the tellers the funds would not be available for a wire, I would have just cashed the check at the bank it came from and deposited cash but I explained what I was doing and what I needed and was told no problem. Kristen called me a couple of hours later and told me they would not be sending the wire because the funds haven't cleared even though they were made immediately available and the check came from a person I have transaction history with. What's crazy is I could have literally sent that money through Zelle or Cash App or Venmo without issue since again these were available funds had the company I needed to pay accepted these forms of payment. Today, I go to withdraw a portion of a cash deposit I had made yesterday around 7:20pm EST. The teller as usual goes to prepare the funds and out pops Kristen on the microphone telling me I can't withdraw these funds because the check I deposited hadn't cleared. Even after I told her this was a cash deposit I made YESTERDAY not a check.. she still maintained it hasn't cleared. I understand there may be some technicality in which a cash deposit could take more than 1 day to clear but I mean come on.. All of these are transactions I used to make regularly and continue to make regularly at other branches. The reason I decided to bank with a smaller regional bank with a local branch is because of the service and the fact that the tellers know who I am, know my account history, and understand my needs. I'm not asking for special treatment or anything that would be outside of the rules but all of these examples and more are things that were never an issue at this branch in the past and are not an issue at other Atlantic Union Branches. It genuinely feels like Kristen Dienst is popping up trying to make my life difficult on purpose and her attitude and demeanor towards me as a customer only make it worse. Moving forward if I decide to stay with AUB, I will definitely not be visiting this branch and I certainly will not be recommending it to any of my friends or peers.
