I went in on Tuesday I believe, to get help with accessing an account I created online and to make a deposit. Since I couldn’t access the account online, I was going to make the $25 initial deposit in person. There were a few issues with getting access to my account, which inevitably never happened. Nor was I permitted to deposit my coins. Since I opened my account online, I was giving a digital bank card until my physical one arrives in the mail, which typically takes up to a few weeks. I currently don’t have a bank, so I receive all my checks by check and cash them (I make majority of my money in cash anyway). This leaves me carrying around large sums of money at all times, which I’d prefer not to do. The only way I can deposit this money is by physically going in the bank because I dont have my physical card yet. The person at the front counter that was helping me, no offense, was not very helpful at all. I let her know that I was having issues accessing my account etc.. I gave her my ID so we could through the trouble shooting techniques to get into my account. Ultimately, she wasn’t able to help me gain access to online login portion of the account. Which wasn’t a huge deal to me. At this point I’d been with them for about 30 minutes and it was very clear she was over it. I’d like to mention that throughout this 30 minutes I was not with her the entire time, at one point I went with a bank teller to update some of my contact info. At this point in the transaction it’s time for me to make my deposit. I’d like to note that the entire time I’m standing in-front of this lady I have a glass jug full of coins sat on the counter beside my bag. So throughout this entire transaction she is fully aware that I’m there to deposit these coins. Instead of allowing me to make my deposit, she tells me I would have to roll all the coins (which if given the opportunity I wouldn’t have minded doing.), instead of allowing me to make the decision on whether I wanted to roll the coins or not, she tells me to just go to Kroger and deposit it there at their Coinstar machine, and then comeback to the bank to give her the money. Then dismissed me. I didn’t even have the opportunity to tell her 1. That I was in-fact willing to count and roll each coin, and that 2. I had actual cash money to deposit. I also find it rude and disrespectful that my own bank that I went to deposit my money for free, tells me to go pay to have my money counted and THEN bring it back to them. If you’re unaware Coinstar charges a .99cent transaction fee + 12.9% of what ever you deposit. I genuinely feel I was treated in a very dismissive way because of my age. The first thing she noted was my age (born in 05) when I stepped up to the counter. Maybe she falsely assumed the only money I had access to were the coins? Even then still odd and strange behavior. So that was my fun little trip to the bank. This irks me so bad because I’m a server. 90% of my money is given to me and hand-to-hand in cash 5-6nights a week. I’m still stuck having to keep track of all this physical money with no place to put it. I’m really not a fan of Truist due to a lot of complaints I’ve heard, but it’s one of the few Notable banks with physical branches nearby. Hopefully, I have a better experience there.

First I want to say that this is first review I have ever given. Secondly, I have been with Wells Fargo for over 10 years and have had absolutely no issues what so ever. This is my first interaction with this Vinton branch and it was not a great experience. I received a phone call from Brandy that my debit card had been located in a parking lot and turned it in. She did inform me that I needed to have two forms of ID but did not specify exactly what I needed. I live 45 minutes from this branch and just happen to be on this side of town for a rare occurrence. When I realized I did not have my ID, I brought in my credit card, my school ID, and my work badge. All of these besides my credit card had my full name and picture on it. I even had a picture of my actual drivers license on my phone. She would not release my card to me. So I said fine, I don’t live on this side of town. Can you cancel my card and me a new one? She would not help me and just told me to do on the app. I voiced how ridiculous this was. And was told this is why she told me over the phone I needed an ID. Yes she sure did but was not specific on the type of Id. I totally understand that everybody has policies they have to abide by. This is not what frustrated me. It was the lack of compassion and lack of wanting to help. It was the lack of treating me like a human being and not just another number. I most definitely will not return and will be on the hunt for a different bank. So I hope they dispose of my card appropriately.
