At Truist, our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities. That happens through real care to make things better. To meet client needs, to empower teammates, and to lift up communities.
Tony El Labaki has provided top-notch support and went above and beyond to resolve a complex issue beyond his control. Not only was he exceptional in terms of client interaction, he took extra steps to help resolve a serious issue, which was, as a result, successfully addressed by the bank. Notably, I do not even have accounts with the bank apart from a car loan. This did not prevent Tony from dedicating extra time and effort to the problem I brought to his attention and help solve the complex issue in the best possible way. I cannot think of a better person to be promoted to an appropriate leadership position -- knowledgeable, calm, helpful, proactive -- the best representative of the bank.

I recently visited a Truist branch to cash a check issued by a church that has been a loyal member of this bank for over 30 years. Despite this long-standing relationship, the experience was unnecessarily unpleasant. The teller’s demeanor was cold and dismissive from the moment I approached the counter, as if my presence was an inconvenience.
After I handed her the check, she asked if I had an account with them. I said no, and she curtly informed me that there would be an $8 fee and that she’d need to call the issuer to verify the check. Her tone was insensitive and lacking in any sense of customer service.
I’ve never encountered a bank that charges the recipient of a check drawn from one of their own accounts just for cashing it. The fee itself may be policy, but the way it was delivered was rude and unprofessional. It’s clear why this branch has earned such low ratings — the service is poor, the atmosphere is unwelcoming, and even the exterior is neglected.
With nine other banks in the same area, I recommend choosing any one of them instead.

Impossible to get any consistency out of their customer service. Very hit or miss.

Been banking at BBT from 40 years ago until it became Truist. Truist closed their Reston branch. No one picks up the phone at the Maple Ave branch; I left several messages. Been trying to reach them since a month ago. If they don’t care about the customer, then how well are they taking care of your money? Their website says make an appointment which is a gimmick bc the menu does not work. Worst bank ever and worst customer service. I hope they close down. In the meantime I am looking for a new bank. Go here only if you don’t care for your money either.
Update: are they closing? Service is at its worst!
